My vr Cracked my back glass of my note 5 plus it kept overheating my phone . Putting it into the vr headset caused pressure near the connection and snapped the glass of coarse Samsung won't replace it. They want to charge me 250.00 and keep two weeks. No thanks Samsung.

In the light of recent events they can't really afford to get more bad publicity. I say - if the VR headset was purchased together with Note 7, they should refund those too (regardless of how many days ago was that). But if it was purchased separately, then no. Though the situation with 2nd faulty batch, puts Samsung in the wrong on this one.

Eske Rahn, 15 Oct 2016Uh, that was bad. Though I do understand Samsung, for where... moreThis case is for a product that is directly made by samsung and not offered by third party makers. And Samsung did specify to refund the accesories that they themselves offered as well. So this guy's frustration is still justified.

Well, it's a smart strategy by samsung. Forcing customers to keep vr headset will increase chances of cutomers buying a samsung smartphone to use vr headset

But I doubt that they would state something like that without some 'small prints'. And among these could well be that this goes for all authorized accessories that was for the Note 7 /only/, and perhaps the 30 days for other of their own more generic accessories (just guessing here).

Sure they would avoid (further) beating by just refunding. But someone somewhere have found that the additional beating was less bad than the refunds. - I have no idea if that is a wise decision or not.

But I do not see it as a clear case of refund all or refund nothing, they have found some limit, and this guy is unlucky and ends on the wrong site of that line...

It's the fact that Samsung did say it was going to refund all accessories that were purchased for the Note7. Not sure if you caught that part of the article.

Uh, that was bad. Though I do understand Samsung, for where would it end?

What if the user had bought a LOT of Android apps, and now wanted to switch to Windows, Tizen, or even Symbian. Should Samsung also cover that?

And if the user was mad enough to want an Iphone 7, what about any headset bought?

The user could have bought some very expensive hand crafted luxury case for the phablet by some third party. This would now be useless, should that be covered?

....There would be no end to that slippery slope of refunds.

poor soul. may god bless him

The right thing to do is return the person money. There's no excuse for releasing a phone that's dangerous to society. Samsung should contact this guy and refund his money.
