I don't know why people get so much excited when they just have a look on name NOKIA

Guys its clearly said that they are feature phones not smart phones, please read as it is not add your illusions and sentiments.

Nokia is long gone and dead they had down sized there employees sold R&D sold here maps (I guess) and sold every thing which made Nokia as Nokia back date.

210 bn company was sold for 7 bn were they mad no they were ruined to that extent.

Its sad bit true that Nokia will reserve themselves to services divisions and development phase is dead and died never came back.

So accept it with your whole heart and say your fare well to NOKIA once and for all.

Tourettes Guy, 18 Oct 2016Microsoft announced this. Is Nokia still partnered with Mic... moreThe feature phones have probably already been designed by MS, while they were still doing Nokia feature phones. That's why MS must be aware of the "then" product cycles.

I wonder y it is announced by microsoft?

I too am huge fan of Nokia. Loved my little handsets with metallic keys. However they did go a bit skewed when the plastic looking units came out, then recovered with other tried units. The forthcoming units are only entry styled feature phones I suspect but something more interesting in Q 2. Don't rush. Get it right and not another common slab like everyone else. Granted it's practical but what else is possible.

AnonD-507785, 18 Oct 2016I don't think so. Staying with symbian for too long was one... moreNot entirely, Nokia should have continued with Symbian s60v3 on their keypad based smartphones like n82, n70 etc, and should have adopted Android for a entirely new touchscreen smartphone lineup.

Trying to make symbian touchscreen was a big mistake, instead they should have continued developing Symbian for keypad smartphones, and adopt android for touchscreen ones.

Microsoft missed eveything possible in the mobile phone market. I bought the Nokia 1020 and i still don't run the WM 10. In the mean time i bought a Samsung S7. The camera is a bit weaker but Android is far more complete despite some weakness. It's a pitty that Nokia was destroyed by these idiots from Redmond. I'm afraid that only 2 platforms will survive. Windows will die like BlackBerry....shame on you Microsoft....

AnonD-510275, 18 Oct 2016Why everytime I hear about nokia I feel happy? :*Because back in the days before Apple, Google, and Microsoft came in with all their billions, Nokia made the only truly great phones. And don't even mention the CEO that shall not be named.

And the core readership of this site mostly remembers Nokia for what they used to be. And most of the core readership of this site have a few phones sitting in the basement that we can't bring ourselves to get rid of. Mine are the E71, N72, and a beloved N8.
