Design wise it looks okay. maybe not original, but certainly good enough for me. But I'm not a really big spender on phones. So that price.. Can't afford it. Even if i can, don't think would be spending that much on a phone. And I'm not a big fan of MIUI.. Never actually used it, only playing around with my friend's phone, but not really comfortable with it.

Hugo Bara is anallay retentive about every aspect of MIUI and Lei Jun is the same about the hardware. With these 2 paired you get an insanely good device.

I'm not against other p... more3D Glass/Ceramic design is original to Xiaomi, released Jan 2015 (Mi Note), Samsung came out with the same design August 2015 (Note 5). You can't do much with a curved edge to make it original out side of radius so I don't say Samsung copied Xiaomi. Same goes with an LCD. LG announced curved displays before Samsung and it makes no sense to curve the top and bottom.
Also Xiaomi have their own original chamfered alloy frame design since the Mi5 which is very classy. Samsung went with an Apple'esk bulgy round frame with bold Apple'esk antenna lines.

Oh please, don't be such a copycat. I'm not against other phones having curved screens, but at least when it comes to the overall design it's frustrating to see another chinese copycat (if the purported image is true). To be honest, it looks like a slightly edited S7 Edge.

Xiaomi is entitled to launch at least one premium smartphone with such high price, but probably only those of their home country of China will ever buy it. I use a Mi Note phone still, they make good budget & midrange handsets though.

......been waiting for mi note 2 and i am still since mi5s plus build dnt look suitable for me otherwise its op3.

There are cheap phones with good performance and quality. It's true a Galaxy S7 Edge it's way better but the way technology is advancing phone like the Redmi Note 3 can deliver a very good performance for everyday usage. Just my thoughts. Well ,Some Guy at Xiaomi said that we will be surprised ! maybe the prices are what the phone actually worth's and that they gonna sell it for 499! :) thats how ill be surprised come xiaomi im counting on you when observing all the odds of selling a "Xiaomi" phone for as much as an Apple (though i believe apple devices cost way more that what they really should and that this Note 2 phone actually worths more) no its not gonna be a hit so chances are this is the worth of your phone which (fingers X) actually costs this > 499.99 ;) > im !surprised!

Man if that's the price I feel like XiaoMi is only charging that much because they can now. With the Note 7 out of the market they can seriously fill that gap. For anyone who's questioning the curved front and back glass it feels really nice in the hands if you have ever held a note 7.

Ofcourse people that spend 1k for a shitty device which you have to recharge every 20h, will be angry. Well it's your fault that you can't see past the branding and idiotic pricing. My policy is 300$, that's what i spend for a device. If i get a flagship grade device like mi5, i'm ok with it. But you can be a sucker and pay 2k if you want, i'm not that kind of loser:)

I'm pretty sure they will drop the price after couple weeks of its initial release. I doubt Xiaomi brand has enough star power to attract huge sales:P
