LG G6 won't have any Friends as the company gives up on modular accessories

The one-off modular experiment didn't work out for the G5, so LG is dropping it completely.

          I know the beginning of the year, when everybody said this will be the year of modular design and premium mid rangers. Conclusion:
          - LG and Motorola failed at establishing modular accessories to smartphones
          - Sony came up with a upper mid range phone for flagship price and failed
          and
          - Samsung and Apple concentrated on core things of phones, like speed, camera, display. Both made great evolutions of their predecessors, but without much revolution and some innovation here and there. They both sold more phones than expected in a saturated smartphone market.

                  We all saw it coming. Except some LG fans who kept insisting to me that they would keep it and build on it. It clearly isn't what consumers would want, it is inconvenient to use, pricey, and the modules themselves had little value. It's good lg had the sense to see how poor it was and just remove it, I imagine it was because nobody bought any modules other than free ones.

                      I was excited for that modular phone idea at first but when I saw the prices and available mods being mostly usable not for every day life I changed my mind. I'm still interested into Motorola Moto Z but when I was purchasing a new phone it had been just released on Verizon and cost quite a lot so I just took Nexus 6P.

                          Good! Just make the G6 have a 3500mah battery or higher and make it removable. Also, try and not make it ugly.

                          That's all LG need to do

                            Only mod I would be truly interested would be Battery mod (8000 - 10000mAh would be just right).

                            Of course, LG will never release something like that.

                                All we want is removable battery like V20 not some expensive modules which dont do anything great, if G6 will have modular design it better have same great modules not some camera grip or not available everywhere speaker

                                        Keep the removable battery. Thats all we need. Modular stuff or friends too expensive. Introduce new features. Innovate like a true LG. Slam your G6 on other brand faces!
