dont know what's up in their mind . but I strongly suggest that they shouldnt make any more mistakes like thik with any more handsets . SPECIALLY THE NOTEs . I was the biggest fan of NOTE . and it note 7 was the worst thing I ever bought . hope they keep the reputation of the Note Series at the top like always . . .

Nothing like having your replacement phone losing in value by 50% after going through the fracas made by Samsung

AnonD-442781, 24 Oct 2016Guess this confirms that Samsung isn't abandoning the note brand. They will, they just dont want it to become too obvious on this much early stage.

$850 (initial purchase price paid to Samsung for Note7) + $300 (50% current price of S7) = $1,150 total damage to Note7 users.
Still, Samsung is milking their long dead Note7 customers for extra money even for a purchase of 10 months old phone and a promise for a next year upgrade.
If this is how they are treating their most annoyed customers, im afraid they'll bark for more money when the S8 will arrive.

We don't care Samsung, come up with something safe and innovative then we'll talk. Till then we're looking elsewhere.

They did this only in S.Korea to save face and gain back some good will from the consumers there.
Don't expect this program to be available anywhere else. In some markets without strong consumer protection laws, it's good enough that Samsung allowed returns.

You paid EU600 for S7E. (or EU850 + some discount from recall program)
You paid another EU300 for S8 upgrade program, assume that 50% os S7E price.
At the end you paid EU900 in advance of others to be able to pre-pre-order the phone that won't cost EU900 when launch.

I failed to visualize how the maths of this Korean is calculated.

Well...at least it's something. Samsung is desperately trying to persuade the customers to stay with the brand. It's a decent deal, but unfortunately a lot of people left already, so the damage is already done. Company needs to refocus. Less devices per year, more attention to quality and details. They can't afford this to happen again.

Someone Else, 24 Oct 201650% discount on the Glaxy S8. That's tempting. Its actually more than 50%. Samsung is only asking 50% of Galaxy S7 for the Galaxy S8, and I have no doubt S8 price will be more than what S7 costed at launch. So in other words its probably around 60% discount and it could be more if this exchanging offer apply on S7 at current price.

Can we buy Galaxy S7 Edge and be eligible for Upgrade program for Note 8? I would love to do that!!
