Mirkran, 25 Oct 2016I still think a borderless display has no practical purpose... morethe practicial purpose is having more compact/portable devices and immersion this is why people have large screen tv's funny enough people said they were impractical too because they can fall of the walls and damage easily vs box tvs on a surface this phone is flying over the demographic that you belong to let me redirect you to larger bezel phones like iphones whose marketing blindsidings fit you

This would look incredibly awesome with Windows on it. Those tiles would look perfect on that display.

AnonD-428442, 25 Oct 2016Here's a simple definition of innovation from Merriam-webst... moreand what i said is fits perfectly in the context of smart phones using ultrasonic technology to act as a proximity sensor is something new, a 90% screen to body ratio is something new using a cermaic body as a medium for sound waves is something new and for even something OLD if it is implemented in a NEW way it is innovation
sharp hasnt done any of this i reccomend you go read the in detail information on this phone on other websiites and not just look into what it looks like

The fact that the Mi MIX is such a huge phone makes it a fail though. Why couldn't they make a 5" or 5.2" phone like this? Go to hell, Xiaomi.

AnonD-428442, 25 Oct 2016The mid-range Aquos Crystal model did get released in the U... moreWell it depends how it works, I haven't used an Aquos but the obvious innovative aspects from Xiaomi is the ceramic piezo speaker and the ultra sonic proximity sensor that have been neatly packed into an 7.9mm thick ceramic body with a screen ratio bigger than 90%. They are also providing others innovative tech as well like the possibly Sharp supplied rounded corners display. All priced at $590 for the 256GB model.
Who cares if it is China only, I've only ever used xiaomi.eu firmware and they simply strip the China firmware of all Chinese content and add the play store. My wife has had the China only Mi Note Pro for over a year.

Top specs and no OIS in the camera?? Are you kidding me? I love the looks but for me the lack of OIS is a deal breaker. Too bad, I would have bought this phone.

-made entirely out of ceramic, with ceramic back, ceramic frame, and ceramic buttons
-mortise and tenon joint for attaching the display to the body, instead of glue or other adhesives
-rounded display corner
that's mi mix innovation
i don't know they are hater or jealous xiaomi can do this

Mirkran, 25 Oct 2016I still think a borderless display has no practical purpose... moreBorderless display help reduce the phone's overall size without sacrificing screen size.
I'm all for the technology. My only concern is Android itself that doesn't seem to have a good palm/unintended touch rejection

I have been awaiting this kind of design for quite some time now. There have been some concept phones like this but never released.
I would be definitely interested in buying one if they'll reach Europe.

I don't buy phones because they look nice. I buy phones that perform well. Sorry if I'm not being blindsided by marketing strategies.
