My defence would be, I spent money on buying the phone. I spent money travelling to return the phone. I've now been asked to spend further money to return said phone for the second time. I do not believe it is going to explode, and I don't trust the media.

I've kept a hold of the phone. When it is not stored in a fire-proof bag, it has been used for testing purposes. I believe I've found out what's causing the fault, and I have tried to speak with Samsung about this issue. What have you done, GSM Arena? How have you helped diagnose this issue? What have you done to solve this issue?
Don't call me an arsonist when a product I paid £700 for has a 0.00025% chance of spontaneous combustion; a fire that I didn't cause, want or need. In regards to what Samsung have or have not said, I take no notice at this point. They've already proven they aren't to be trusted.
Not all fires are arson either; arson is the criminal act of deliberately setting fire to property. Note, "criminal act." Let's assume I put my phone on my chair, got a blow torch and deliberately set fire to the whole lot, it would not be a criminal act--even if the fire were deliberate. Your most recent articles at this site disgust me.
By the way, if my theories are correct, limiting the charge to 60% (which is a guesstimate based on voltage and normal cell resistance, and if normal cell resistance existed, there wouldn't be said problem in the first place) will not prevent these phones catching fire.

samsung should have just released an update to purposely brick the device, let it shut down then once it restarts have the phone only to display a message to return the device, as at least then people would return it.
