The previous post was a hypothetical defence; the burden of proof lies on the guy making the claim. It's still undetermined if he's indeed correct that I waive all my rights just because Samsung made a twitter post.
I keep it in a fire-proof bag. The only time it is out of the bag is when I've been using it for testing purposes. I believe I have discovered why the phones have been catching fire.

You can make Lithium batteries "explode" using 110 different methods. It's rather like throwing a match in a fuel tank or driving a car into a brick wall, the fuel might ignite but that's not proof there's a defect with the fuel; indeed Lithium is volatile--it certainly doesn't take Einstein to work that one out. I do not believe this is as simple as stating it's solely an issue with the battery. My testing and experimentation would suggest it is more complicated than that i.e. a design flaw with the phone itself. What do I know though. I've only been making Lithium polymer packs long before the Apple iPhone was produced.

My phone doesn't leave my house. You make all these assumptions, just as the author did with this article, but you don't actually know anything, do you? What's more, you don't care to educate yourself.
From my perspective, Samsung are busy running around chasing their tails, they haven't found the fault, they're incompetent, and the media is making the problem sound worse than what it is. While I have the device, I'm capable of doing objective testing in an environment I trust. You cannot expect me to trust Samsung about this issue when it's their second recall. If my theories are correct, there's a possibility some of their s8 and Note 8 phones will also "explode".
By all means though, call me an arsonist. Apparently the 0.0025% risk of heating up a fire proof bag in my own home counts as being a criminal these days.

Don't even know why people would keep the Note when Samsung is already saying you will be getting 50% off the Note 8 which they have confirmed they are working on. Just keeping it is silly, and putting yourself at risk.

The only way to avoid the update is never to connect to data or Wi-Fi. As a former Note7 user, I implore the rest to just give it up for safety. I loved the features, but safety should be priority.
It was the first sealed battery phone I've ever had. Looks like I'm skipping next year's so that Samsung figures out what's really wrong with their sealed battery system. I'm back with my Note 3 with extended battery.
Samsung should reconsider going back to removable batteries.

Just dont blame Samsung if it burns your house,car, or even worse case may cost the life of your friends/loved ones to those who are still keeping this explosive phone.

My Blue Coral Note7 can be charged to 100%. The process of charging is quite tedious though. I have made plexiglass container for it when I want to charge it. It's definitely worth it to have a phone everyone wants but can't have.

They'll update their Note 7's, get discouraged because they won't charge beyond 60% which will force those who love their Note 7 Phones so much to return them. 60% of charge is fair, would have been way worse. Come-on Guys!! Return the Phone before you hurt yourself and your loved ones around you.

Listen you dont have to accept updates.I don't accept my note 4 security updates they are bs and hasstle and I don't have 500 mg or more room on The phone spare to download that shit. Point is if you set your phone to not download updates you can't get there shit updates that will force your note 7 to lower your charge capacity. I can't wait for the hate.yes I'm a note 7 fan using a note 4 for day1 and need a new note phone and know I won't buy a note 5 lol as it was not even even released here and it sucks.and sgs7 edge is trash.come on haters let's see what u got I don't care I just want to upgrade my trusty note 4.I still wish note 7 was released in my country
I never updated my nokia n91 or most of my decent hansets and they were fine

As a Samsung user and an (soon-to-be former) owner of the Note7, I was quite disappointed when I have to go through the issue to exchange the phone.
The best we were offered is $25 credit initially, and $100 ($75 if you claimed the previous one) along with one of any other phone; This to me is definitely not compensating for the loss of time and trouble we have to go through.
While I understand the company took a big loss / blame from the public that it decided to cease its sales of their former-flagship product, I personally do not feel it was an adequate way of appeasing consumer and fan for their failure to contain the situation.
While in an earlier post on GSMA, there was a post about how S Korea is currently being offered 50% off their switching to Note8 upon release should customer decide switch to another Samsung Device; This to me, on top of the current one they are offering (of course, this to say if they had considered this altogether as an incentive with their global recall), would have been a incentive-worthy advise.
nevertheless, to stay on track with this topic, limited the battery charge consumption will not really offer a solution of the issue if the user decide to not switch for any reason.

Its clearly a thermal runaway issue with the cell, with only 60% charge it will lower the voltage so higher currents will flow for same watt output in simple terms the unit gets warmer the lower percentage left in the battery but this has been fixed with throttling down the cpu.
But charging is opposite most of the heat gathers towards full charge until the cell current ramps down around 95% charge so samsung have took all precautions to stop this cell getting hot but stopping the process at 60%.
So in reality the original note will outperform this throttle backed 2 hour battery life device poor show.
