Actually, the advanced battery setting on the GN7 allows this to be lifted to 80%. Not sure why GSMarena never mentions that?

i recommend not returning it and simply getting a refund... instead keep using or not using the Note 7 and hope it catches fire or even explode. by then sue Samsung for millions of $ and potentially receive 1000000000x your money back.

It's funy that there a lot of Note 7 still in the wild, but there are zero reports of Note 7 exploded/burned since Samsung officially end the Note 7.

Don't blame Samsung if the Note 7 put any of your property to flames or kill any of your loved ones.

So there's the ability to release an update that could limit charge current but they have not done this they have gone for cell voltage instead so I don't think they have ruled out another possibility but to play it safe they are keeping the cells in a state of less power if it melts down there's less energy, It will be a good read when the true cause of this melt down gets out.

If by any chance someone has had one of these phones "explode", can you please tell me if you noticed it crashing any point beforehand? Not necessarily that day, but it could be a week or a couple of days beforehand.

If you go on youtube and search "samsung galaxy note 7 boot loop", did it do anything like that?

                                  Thank you.

Indeed the battery ignites, but all batteries ignite if you give them a reason to.

I wouldn't be surprised if Samsung don't find the fault while they're studying the batteries because I don't believe the fault is with the battery itself.
