yes it is, buying android phone is really a mess, if you are about to buy one make sure its the top of its class to ensiure that you'l get most out of it..therefore if there is a minimum of 1ghs, the galaxy 3 and other midrange galaxy's wont get any gingerbread update...damn man you're stock at 2.2 and theres nothing more you can do but to watch videos on youtube to experience the gingerbread nor wait for the saints of android to develop a UNOFFICIAL update..that which youre about to put your phone in the harm's way.

If LG wants to maintain its position at the top, LG must commit and take actions now. LG must reach out to its supporters before it is too late like in the old days whereby most users ignored LG phone.

Without the upgrade to Android 2.3 Gingerbread, sales for LG phone will drop sharply in no time. LG should be concerned about its market share and will definitely drop behind due to distrust and dismay by user.

I am planning to buy an LG Optimus One at 30% off, I will wait first for a hacker to create a full version of Gingerbread that can be updated in LG Optimus One.

Mazhar, 09 Dec 2010Can Galaxy 3 get the update of gingerbread??there is big debate wether galaxy s will get gingerbread or not, as galaxy s just got froyo, i think glalxy 3 and 5 may get 2.2 but samsung will not waste money on 3and 5, feel happy if galaxy 3 and 5 gets froyo and say goodbye to sammy for new phone if you decide to get new,

Android is too fragmented. Its not stable, too many bugs and app compatibility issues with different fones.

                            Not getting Gingy?

I'm not surprise, LG's not into "updates". If they had it on Eclair it stays on Eclair. Same with Froyo and will just release a device on Gingy. Remember...LG's not into "working at it".

Anonymous, 09 Dec 2010Why android fan always dying to get an update??...LOLIt's not that we're dying to get an update it's just that the manufacturers are slow getting the updates to us. And when the manufacturers gets the update out, the carriers will hold it and add whatever crap they want and that adds even more time/delays.

I waited for months to get the Eclair update on my X10 which it should have shipped with and my carrier took another month to get it to us. Same thing with my SGS Captivate; I'm still waiting for my carrier to finish with whatever they are doing to Samsung's Froyo update.

Of coarse I can root and install custom ROMS but I want the official ones from the manufacturers. It's also becoming apparent that some manufacturers are lazy to provide updates to low-mid level Android phones even though the hardware is perfectly capable to handle the update.
