Until Apple will merge iOS and OS X into a single touch-enabled OS, these laptops will continue to decline in sales and desirability. The touch bar is just a lame band-aid, after a short period everyone will just realize that an overpriced laptop is just an overpriced laptop, and move on.

While seeing many nice numbers shown by Apple with the new MacBook Pro, I am wondering for most people is it really worth to pay such high price for the difference or productivity gain? Well, in the end, this is the world some people think they have money and need LV bag to carry same stuff around than a $50 bag.

No wonder that people are depresed.In the end you can justify whatever you want in your head.And since people in the West have money they will buy them,but for me 1500 is like 3 months of working,and I have a decent job, for others is like 6 months.If Apple was the only game in town 95% of the people will be computer less,so Apple,maybe make some products that are cheaper.

to be honest..laptops are not at all going forward at a speed that mobile phones are enjoying..the number of years it took for computers to have a minimum of 4gb of ram?? hah even now some have those..phones next year may have 6gb ram...nooone is doing inspired stuff...like making a battery with 100hrs backup..come on...
i have friends who claim macbooks are the best, but even they agree that they come at a price premium. as a person who has used mac, once some 15 years ago, i don't think i'm qualified to criticize it. i won't..i'll just say what i expect of them...
its strange that apple is not making any surface competitors...most probably because it will cut into their ipad business, also you have to open the storage up a little if you have a surface type apple device..and apple fanboys, don't you dare say ipad pro..cos i have the 9.7 inch one..its a weakling with a mediocre battery, with an app store having millions of apps, but none that are useful..i'm still waiting for a number key row on the keyboard...
mac books are cool, they look the price..however other companiees are catching up..IMO hp and dell are the kings when it comes to laptops..i'm typing this out on an hp pavillion with a 2nd gen i7 processor, which was the flagship at its time...i have an envy with 5thgen i7 but i still use my old buddy as a torrent client..it has been on for the past 4 years..yeah you read that correctly..4 years(except for a time when the charging brick said byebye)..its fan is dead but the thermals have been engineered so nicely that it is getting passively cooled...
and the numpad...it seems to be an ongoing trend..the removal of the numpad..thats got to be an unpopular choice..when buying the envy, my dilemma was with an alienware, but i took the weaker device because of the numberpad..it feels right..it feels like the keyboard you have at home..(btw people who love to type..get a mechanical one..they are awesome..using a k70 corsair)
i suppose in the end its what makes you happy...macbooks are not for gaming, that doesnt mean they are not powerful..they are not built with gaming in mind. people will go fr this because of the portability i think..

AnonD-47808, 27 Oct 2016Apple is using 6TH Generation in an era of 7TH Generation..... moreThe current 7th gen mobile processors are low power (4.5W and 15W) and only dual core (good on the battery but bad for performance). For high end laptops 6th gen still the only option at the moment.

Apple has sort of barred the people out those who can not afford. So to make room for the ones those who can. This is how thier business model works.
It simply works for them and their customers alike since their products although expensive are ACTUALLY premium. A company making the software as well as hardware optimized for that software makes hell lot of a difference. No wonder no other OEM could come even close to them when it comes to premium segment.
