Till now, i have NEVER found any Windows user speaking perfectly technical. Copying all the issues from some article/portal/website does not prove that you are technically sound.
Remember, Android is OPEN source, this means you can write/edit/delete the source code of OS so whatever you told "memory leaks, performance issues, battery management issues, force closing apps, unorganized menus and submenus, the standard user interface looks like it was created in a rush" can be found in a smartphone whose underlying OS/Kernel has been designed by some stupid company.
"poor choice of fonts" : it seems you have never played with Fonts in Android, grow up kiddo..
"largest number of security holes": Again, Android being open source allows everyone to go through its source code and have maximum probability to exploit the vulnerabilities like in Linux...
"sync problems, backup and restore issues": Honestly speaking, i think you might have used some Android mobile costing

Carol, 03 Nov 2016Actually, the Lumia 520 bumped the system market share to 1... moreYes, to some extent you are right, some companies who write useless code on top of stock Android makes the OS buggy and lagging and some companies to make the UI more attractive, keeps on adding bloatwares and make UI heavy like the Touchwiz from Samsung. But NEVER EVER think that Android is buggy...Remember, its FROM GOOGLE.....If you want to experience best Android phones go for stock Android like in NEXUS devices or the recent PIXEL and trust me you will never find it useless and sadly there is no 8GB in recent Nexus devices. If you ask me, i am using Xiaomi Redmi 1S (launched before 2 yrs with 8GB int memory and with Snapdragon 400 chipset) and its running damn smooth...i have installed CM13(with ZERO bloatwares) and then overclocked it and provided just 2GB free space int memory and now i can challenge any Windows phone with my low cost phone in terms of performance....This is a JUST a small example of how far you can make your Android customizable and i DON'T think this can be done in iOS forget abt Windows...

Carol, 03 Nov 2016Actually, the Lumia 520 bumped the system market share to 1... moreYup, exactly!

Android phones are popular because the market is over-saturated with them, and once users get used to it, they think it's the best. Same with iPhone users - they got used to it and they think it's the best OS. (iOS is still better than Android, though...)

But once you get to use Android, iOS, Windows, BBOS, Symbian, etc. for at least one year each, you get to the conclusion that Windows actually offers a much more pleasant experience than Android or iOS does.

                      Android
Pros: large number of apps in store, most customization options.
Cons: countless variations of the same app, infected apps, memory leaks, performance issues, battery management issues, force closing apps, unorganized menus and submenus, the standard user interface looks like it was created in a rush, poor choice of fonts, random bugs and errors, largest number of security holes, messy filesystem, sync problems, backup and restore issues, Google tracking everything you do on your device.

                      iOS
Pros: newest apps available on iOS first, best app performance, best memory management, streamlined user interface with organized menu structure, good security - better than Android but worse than Windows, easy to use for non-tech people, mobile-friendly fonts.
Cons: very limited customizability, not enough freedom without jailbreaking the device.

                      Windows
Pros: best reliability out of the three, good performance - better than Android but nowhere near iOS, good number of customization options - more than iOS but less than Android, streamlined user interface with properly organized menus and submenus, best fonts choice, tiles are more useful than static or animated icons, least number of security holes and potential virus infections - apps run in sandboxed mode, clean filesystem, tons of everyday-useful features that non-Windows users are not aware of, best sync performance, no Google tracking, Youtube (and others) playing in the background and/or under the lock screen - without ads, Cortana - best personal assistant, most reliable backup and restore options.
Cons: least number of apps in the store.

That's why when i buy a phone, at least i don't pay much money, because they really aren't worth it (Especially with non-removable batteries).

Current smartphone industry is very childish. I'd say practically insane.

The disadvantage to Android now almost ruling the planet is the lack of competition to keep the product healthy. But it is hard to compete against something that's free. Linus Thorvalds and James Gosling probably didn't realize what their creations would become.

The fall of windows came by their own hands. Microsoft is pretty much the reason windows phone/mobile went it back to it's shell. Now, why android has so much market share? For fanboys, it is clear: cause is better...you say. Well: NOPE! Quite not, not at al, actually;). Most of android phones are rubbish, full of errors, buggy and the most thing android is known for: memory leeks. Name me an 8gb android phone that actually works, and i tell you their is none. Yet, they still build them. Even this beloved Samsung makes subpar products. So why is that? People have no alternative, the mass thinks, even tough never tested other offers, android is the only one. More then 60% of android users, have no idea how to properly use the device. All android user that i know have no idea how this system works. All they know is apps!!!. When they have a problem, they come to me to fix it. And i am a windows mobile user. And still know more about that subpar system then it's own users. So, nope, android is NOT the best. It just has mass traktion till the next trend will come. And believe me,the next trend is around the corner! The market is oversaturated with android devices, and their is really, like really NOTHING new in this ecosystem since it's birth. But literally only apps and bug fixes, ui improvements, os capabilities. That's about it.
