It's true that Bada is not a great OS but Wave was a great little phone with great features. It was one of the best phones of 2010 - that's why Bada sells so well. All in all it didn't help BadaOS as much as it was probably expected because people bought it only because of hardware. Developer still aren't really interested in Bada.

Now if they won't release a phone that could come up to the high expectations after the original Wave then Bada will most probably fail.
However it there's be a decent successor to The Wave then it will just most probably stretch its life span for another year.

and an sd card is mounted as ram, Virtual ram in the traditional sense is a mass storage device a system will page as a ram source, typically this is slower and less efficient then true ram, and in the case of sd cards not conducive to a long life time for the sd card

adkane, 21 Dec 2010there are some faults that i want to point out in your post... moreand how many people are going to plug a hdd into the n8 so they can use virtual ram? ram is ram, virtual ram is mass storage being used as ram so unless your talking about using remote storage over a cellular connection which would be damn slow, im curious how you are going to carry this mass storage / v ram with you

But 8500 has powerful hardware and IMO you will be allowed to upgrade to 2.0 Bada.

But what the preference should be taken into mind is that It has a bright future . it has a slow and steady start .
Still Dome of bugs / And enhancement are to be made to Compete to the Symbian and Android !!

jayrtom, 21 Dec 2010To the ones talking about the Symbian interface... have you... moreInstalling spb mobile shell is just for satisfying yourself temporarily. I installed it in my 5800XM and was happy for first few days. Then i removed it because it used to terminate automatically when i receive a call and some times it did not recognize my touch.

I have spent hundred thousands of rupees on Symbian phones earlier. Bought a Galaxy S recently and now i am realizing that Android & Bada (Wave) are much much better comparing to Symbian. I strongly feel symbian UI should change now. Else its gonna sink for sure. Just wait and watch.

To the ones talking about the Symbian interface... have you ever tryed spb mobile shell on it? (or windows mobile) it completly transforms the ui putting it much better looking than any other OS (though it can be instaled on android also). One good advantage of Symbian over any other OS is its efficiency. with much lower specs you can achieve the same performance! with the advantage of lower battery consumption... I bought a Nokia C7 at a good price and it is superb with the mobile shell... excelent battery life, excelent sound, excelent caracterystics unique (FM transmiter for example)...
Stop saying that symbian is dead because it's not only the looks that makes a smartphone and besides... looks can be changed with software (make up)
And what about the comunnity behind symbian? If you buy an expensive phone today you expect that it lasts for long! I still have a nokia 5230 with symbian. It is tweeked with a custom firmware and is a lot faster than many low end androids with bigger specs!

I wish Symbian to come up with completely new interface other wise its gonna sink.
I used 6600,6630, 7610, E71, 5800 XM. UI is similar in 5800 compared to 6600 which is over 5 years old. So time for a change symbian. Good luck.
