Samsung Note7 was a nightmare. Hoping that Samsung does better with the next Note to kill iPhone8

Anonymous, 21 Nov 2016Samsung galaxy note 7 is the best phone I have ever see...Absolutely agree!
Best camera ever, best display ever, most beautiful design ever, best functionality..............................
BTW no one exploded after the ban. And no US lab have found anything wrong with Note7 yet, neither a reason this to happen.

That's one mind conditioning survey done in behalf of Samsung. For people who really know tech, Samsung is a terrible brand software wise. You have a phone but not a smartphone. And then this issue on Galaxy Note 7 cum mini IED. Really have a lot of catching and patching up to do.

I guess I'm not surprised. Everyone I know seems to respect Samsung even more than before because of Samsung's responsible way of handling everything.

Despite the overhyped news coverage, 99.999% of Note 7's were perfectly fine, so that also helps.

OperationBlitz , 21 Nov 2016Lol its exactly like what I said in regards to the so call ... moreActually, there were about 6000 people in the poll

That's because 99.99 percent of Note 7 users didn't have their phone explode and actually really loved the phone. Everyone I talked to was really bummed out that they had to return the phone that had no other alternative.

Talked to a Samsung rep, the burning jeep, the guy didn't want to go to court, child who burnt his hand, they were called and a parent said they burnt themselves the day before, can't remember the other one

Prior to the Note7 debacle, their S7 edge was universally praised. That's the benefit of releasing two flagships per year. If you check for most fans on this site, S7 edge is on top. So why would any of this be surprising when Samsung's S flagships has always been their bigger seller? Notes don't sell anywhere near the S-line. Note7 debacle is just a footnote in their history...

Not even a Samsung fan. Can't stand their software optimization. But I don't look at Samsung with myopic eyes. They do make many, many more things in the world. I don't like iPhones because I dislike iOS but I do love Macs. That's Apple's roots. Computers and they excel at it. Same with Samsung. People can go avoid their phones but they do make memory cards, SoCs, TVs, and whatever appliances we need in the house. Samsung isn't a one-trick pony like say HTC...

Samsung must get rid of that sluggish touchwiz as well as the bloatware that comes with it that alone would help them attract more customers like me

That's to be expected. The billions of dollars in marketing spent through the years to build a brand paid off big for samsung, as even though the recall was really sketchy, people still have faith in a brand that they trusted through the years. Not to mention that they are the only brand that can take on apple, and we know there is a lot of ihaters out there, so that makes the ihaters love and freely promote samsung brand on forums.

Samsung just can't accept their loss this year. There's no way that people wouldn't know about their failure when warning announcements have been done in flights all over the world and not just in the US.

Early recall was the best possible decision which reduced the potential disaster. Samsung's brand value have remain unchanged but note series may be done for good.
