This high selling volume for the wonderful Nokia N8 just shows that this brand is the Porsche or Rolls Royce of cellphones. And now that the price in the American continent (both North and South) has dropped considerably, we will expect more and more sales. Congratulations Nokia, You are "número 1" and will continue to be for years to come!! Happy new year to all.

Just a small amount of sales for Nokia top-of-the-line phone.Even the news never said over 4 million but in-between 3.5 to 4.Still poor despite the low pricing & high feature phone.Better not to tell the figure to the world.Android & iOS still outsells Symbian.

happy new year to all
it seems that a news or updates about N8 phone are more interesting than the other stuff here in gsmarena, either they love they like or they hate it comments section will get plenty of blah blah blah...and more blah blah blah..........some says it good some says the other is better but what people dont know is while they keep hating or bashing, it will account for more interest to other readers......

I travel extensively in SE Asia and North Asia and have not seen one person with this mobile. I always see a lot of Blackberry's, Iphones and Samsung's in particular at the high end, and basic Nokia or Chinese phones. Most of my time is in Indonesia where Blackberry is a clear leader in the top end of what is one of the world's largest mobile phone markets.

iPhone 4 is selling more then the N8 in the UK because people in the UK are more bothered about Fashion then what the phone can do. If it was upto me i'd choose the N8 over the iPhone. I've owned a 3GS before and I got bored of it after 9 months of owning it. I've got a Nokia N900 now and I do NOT regret switching back to Nokia!
It does ALOT more then the iPhone does and it's exclusive. I've not anyone with an N900 yet.

Nokia is generally a good brand here in South Africa, coming from a retail point of view, I have only experienced constant DOA N8 handsets & N8's that freeze on apps or phones that work for a few days & suddenly donot switch on again, makes me wonder, how much of research actually went into the developement of this handset. I guess they sold so many handsets because a third of them are actually replacement phones. But this is just my opinion from my experience, if anyone knows better please feel free to...

I'm now using N8 for the second day. The only thing I'm sincerily regretting is I waited for 2 months until I bought it! This device is amazing multi-tasking, multi-connectivity timemachine. It is a year or two ahead of e.g. iPhone 4 as regards to technology.
It produces high quality pictures and hd-video with good sound quality and connects with tv via hdmi and I can also use wireless mouse to control it.

And not everyone wants to use 3G or internet on their phones... So need the full bluetooth functionality among others.. Also, I sometimes use my phone for atoring files and stuff..

Hey it is PHILIPPINES.
Yeah mobile internet is not useful here. The hardware, camera and multimedia are those in demand. iphone4 has the Globe Telecom as its carrier. While N8 has Smart Telecom.
I dont know what's the problem with other Filipinos. You say Filipinas are known for maids? WOW. Can't you see the international stars with Filipino blood? Charice, Arnel Pineda, Darren Criss, Batista, Bruno Mars.
FOR all you know PHILIPPINES is the TEXting capital of the world. s of 2008, there are about 67.9 million cellular phone subscribers in the Philippines. In 2007, the nation sent an average of one billion SMS messages per day
How dare you say Nokia is a cheap brand. how come e72 is the #1 business phone here in the Philippines. DO you call a piece of steel cheap over a plastic one!? How silly!
