i think you have mistakenly confused perimeter with surface area.
surface area is lxb unit is mm2
whereas perimeter is 2(l+b) unit is mm.

Sharp sends vibrations through your bone, the sound doesn't enter your ear canal, it's cool but different. What's not cool is they also used a hideously huge proximity sensor "at the chin" that looked like an ear piece and kinda makes the phone look upside down.
Xiaomi have innovated with their own methods. The Piezo sends vibrations through the phone chassis then conventionally into the air/ear. Proximity uses an ultrasonic sensor through the screen "where you place your ear".
Also Xiaomi have always used Japan Display for their flagship phones(except recently) and seeing the MIX deconstructed it remains very Xiaomi like internally. Many have envisioned bordrless full screen phones for decades. It doesn't belong to sharp.

This Mi Mix is definitely outstanding compare to the previous Sharp model. It surely set a benchmark on how the future phone would be like.

lets assume ur screen dimensions are correct i.e. dimensions of display would be 143.82mm * 76.14mm.
then calculate the surface area of a rectangular display (elementary 2*l+b) = 439.92mm
and going by the dimensions of phone as u mentioned Going by the official Xiaomi specs (158.8mm*81.9mm)
the surface area of a front side of the phone (elementary 2*l+b) = 481.4mm
Now calculate the screen to body ratio = (screen surface area / phone surface area) = 439.92/481.4 = 0.913834
in percentage = 91.38%
How GSMArena tries to prove that they are correct is really laughable

They must work much much more and even more than ever before!!!!!!!! Well, because they must be aware of the Xiaomi Mi Mix and Huawei Mate 9 Porsche design/Pro and more, right? ! So how they will gonna beat them ????????????? Come on Samsung, this time you have a really hard bone to chew!!!!!!!! (But I hope that they will succeed )

To give a fair number you need to take into consideration that it is NOT a box shape!
....But it is not an easy task to fairly define at what 'height' the outer size should be measured....
But we CAN say that the display ratio AT THE LEAST is 84%

Even with hydrophobic coating and heavy rubber sealing and tight fitting on the smartphone, it wont be waterproof, because the device would still not be able to swim accross the ocean to a depth in excess of even 100 meters, the pressure is too much for the fragile electrical components inside of the device. It will take a long time before we see smartphones being equivalent to those true water loving watches, where the most extreme can survive as up to even 3000 meters! Most of these problems nonetheless come with the technology investment, mass production and quality assurance, something many fail to comply nowadays if not everyone! Nokia could perhaps take the world by storm in the following 5 years and present such technologies, would surely love that!
