Plenty of people don't want expensive wireless headsets that only last a few hours and don't offer the same sound quality of premium headphones. Surely it's easy to offer both wireless and a 3.5mm jack.

Anonymous, 12 Dec 2016In your single minded opinionNo its not.. its what anyone can see in public places and on transportation.

My GN7 has gone, I have gone with a Mi Mix for something different.

If the GN8 is something special and Samsung doesn't kill it trying to imitate the iPhone i may come back.

Regards, Samsung user for 7 years

Samsung... please stop dong dumb stuff just because apple does.

Just concentrate on making a phone that doesn't explode.

Ps, the rounded edges of the GN7 weren't great to use.

Thats a huge let down, i guess radio is gone for good now... luckily i have 2 bleutooth headests, one of them can play radio by its own!
The sd card would be a bigger blow, but i could live with 128GB.
Whatever you do Samsung, just dont drop the battery capacity, big bezels and small battery capacity are the dealbreakers for me!

The most logical reason to do that could be either waterproofing, or in least case, slimming the phone further.

All I want is a new S4 with faster cpu and more memory. The S4 black edition is still my favourite Samsung phone... it has all I need... and best looking, size and grip.

AnonD-210527, 08 Dec 2016Mate. Removal of headphone jack have nothing to do with mak... moreJust had a look & the 6s & 7 are the same thickness & the 6 was thinner by a few 0. mm so in this instance the removal of the jack was not to make the phone slimmer. Although not confirmed, maybe Apple removed the jack for the Haptic Engine.

We will have to wait to see what Samsung do & if they make the S8 thinner than the S7. Hell, Sammy might even bring the jack back with the S9 or even the Note 8, if they do one or they might decide to flip flop on the whole idea & not remove at all. Apple flip flopped for ages if the rumours are true.

& if I was in your shoes charging all those devices then yeah, I would not really want to add another to the list but I have 2 phones & a Smartwatch. I charge my adaptor or earphones when I need to & normally at work throughout the day.

SJM32, 08 Dec 2016From the stories I have read & the tear downs of the iP... moreMate. Removal of headphone jack have nothing to do with making devices slim. But, it is a cylinder shaped hole in the device and consumes some volume. Only someone obsessed with making device light/slim would remove it.
I am not saying removal of this thing made phone slim or anything. What I am saying is, Manufacturers are obsessed with using whatever possible to make the device slim. Like the nano sim and now headphone jack. Sure It might have helped but for most part, these were pretty useless moves(for reducing size weight and size of device).

And if you like your Bluetooth headphones, great for you. I and many other don't. I would not want to recharge my headphones everyday because I already have to recharge 2 mobiles, a smartwatch, a tablet and a laptop. Pretty long list already. There are still people who like to use wired mouse and keyboards because they are just plug and play and no need replace batteries or recharge them.

Apple doing so was ok-ish. Because their OS is know for not giving much options. But Samsung with android doing it is not ok. They are taking away options. And android is known for giving options, not taking away.

Answer: Of course not! because there is NONE.
