Nokia 6288 - slightly updated 6280

i have had a 6288 since last september and it is as faithful as ever. I see what some people mean about the screen, i had a 6280 before it and that screen cracked 2 in a month

I agree with EVERYONE here. I got the phone for a number of reasons including the "new" ability to access email and the 3G network we have here in australia. I'm a pilot...the phone sits in the cockpit...IT LITERALLY does not move. Yet my screen has gone black, took ages to start, and now all I did was put the tiniest amount of pressure on the screen and it cracked. If you are looking for a new phone Steer well clear of the 6288...and any phones based of it....

i use a 6288 recently and its a great phone..had a 1GB card and it werks well..but i accidentaly drop water into my phone and now its not working coz its water..i'm so sad but i'm happy coz i get to change my phone..i'm thinking of changing to nokia 5610 xpress music

Iv recently had a 6288 on a 3g contract when the screen developed a v shaped crack that braches out into what resembles a tree, im am sooo annoyed with nokia and 3g who claim i dropped the phone with is a completly false accusation, if anyone else has had this problem please write to nokia and voice you concern and disapointment so they will accept a manufactrers fault

If anyone is thinking about buying the Nokia 6288, id personally say think again, there good phones except the quality sucks big time. All you have to do is tap the screen to break the damn thing. Mine also has messed up big time and just walking down the road in Cheltenham, my phone just randomly broke. They suck hard!

my screen when blank on my nokia 6288 and nokia told me it was water damage I found this hard to believe as my phone has never been near water. I think its a rubbish phone and if this is the sort of quality nokia are turning out these days I wont be getting another nokia again

i had problems with this phone, so i sent it away and i got new software uploaded onto it ! but i have had it back and it still doing the same stuuf ! the screen goes white with the battery thing at the top the phone frezzes !! it take about 6 mins to turn on it opens folders and " write new messages " when it wants to ! it is a rubbish phone !!!

Right about now i`m hating my 6288. For almost a year i had no problem, although all my friend who had one complained about it. Now it begun to restart by it-self. HATE IT!!! I`m thinking to change it for a SE....

6288 is a waste of money. The battery is useless. The screen had cracked and Carphone Warehouse wanted £45 to replace it. I soon found thst to be a total rip off - I looked on ebay and found a new screen for £1.49!!! the old screen literally peeled off and the new one stuck on perfectly. It took less than a minute!! You can't tell the difference. I just don't understand how these companies can get away with it

Well maii 6288 works sort of ok. the only problem is that my screen only works at certain times. Sometimes the screen dissapear sometimes the screen is like multiplied also the screen turns it self upsidedown which is random, everything elso works though...can any1 plz help me??!!

hi i just got a 6288 on three, my brothers had 1 for 2 months and all my friends have had them for about 1yr, weve all got the clear hard shells on them and no problems theyve also never been dropped

If the phones still working (6288) and you can like use it but the screen is blank and you cant see what your doing.. if you take it to a phone shop tell them.. they should say its the ribbon inside and they will give you a new ribbon for free. well i got mine for free anyway.. But can anyone help me my 6288 insists on turning off randomly, and sometimes i cant turn it on for a while.. and when i go to text it just restarts or turns off so does anyone know the problem??

hiii guys...i have a nokia 7710...but its been giving me some hassels of late..wanted to change...dis phone comes into my budget...just if some1 can answer if we get a ebook reader software for this fone.......thanks a lot guys

I too are experiencing problems with the nokia 6288, like everyone else my handset freaks out and screen dispears. I have had 2 handsets and both doing the same. The service from 3 mobile is also Poor!!!!

i am really upset with my NOKIA 6288!!! I've just use it for 2 to 3 weeks & the LCD just get crazy!!! The screen's display is distorted, a wavy display, or it even blacksout!!! The LCD always gets garbled timely... can someone tells me if theres a shop who can already fix these problem... or do nokia repair these kind of their own product problem!???

Re angry customer: Had the same problem with my 6280 and it turned out to need a new screen. Cost was $140 au dollars.

Darn thing completely blacked out now. It just went blank, there is still sound and stuff but no way of viewing the screen at all.

hi Rajiv, the front camera is for video calling only. Not sure if that is what you meant though.
I am having a major problem with my nokia6288. For some reason it doesn't recognise out the sim card for no apparent reason but 'clears' up once you hit ok , other times it goes blank for a few seconds and now the up key is causing the screen to go completely crazy (discolouration, wavy lines etc.).
Anyone else have this problem?
