Weekly poll results: don't you dare touch the headphone jack, Samsung

That's the biggest deal-breaker - the Home button can be axed safely, assuming the fingerprint reader finds a good new home.

Pretty much saying, Samsung initiate to begin the trend and spread it to the other brand. If Samsung dont copy this so-called 'trend', the other brand wont copy it too.

After the Note7 fiasco what make you think Samsung going to release it next flagship with pretty much the same unimpressive design and feature as Galaxy S7? Look at the transition from Note 3 to Note 4, it pretty much the same phone with upgraded specs. Kinda fail to impress the crowd.

Samsung fanboys will continue to worship it whatever they publish. I still remember when they said that removing the sd card slot was not a bad thing at all in the s6.
"Who uses wired headphones in 2016 anyway" nice excuse for a crap DAC. FF speakers + Top notch DAC is the way to go. Can't wait till the Axon to kill the competition once again in audio, design and build. My next phone will be the HTC Ocean or next gen ZTE Axon, if rumours are anything to go by.

AnonD-614674, 19 Dec 2016Actually the 'trend' lately is moved by Samsung, not by App... moreWell I already told you what Apple took from Samsung's trend:
'bigger displays, AMOLED, Pencil, split-screen, edge displays.....'

Ditching features(like audio jack) is not innovation. Especially if don't offer better solution.
Long ago Apple did it right, when ditching CD but there was better solution.
Last thing I recall Samsung took from Apple's trend was FPS. But Samsung made for the Samsung Pay, and implemented it way better. The best mobile Pay solution. Right? Well Samsung omit also the SD support, but brought it back.
Samsung didn't take the Force Touch ''innovation''. So why should take the jack-less ''innovation''?
Only things that worth Samsung takes. But Apple are not real tech company anymore. Let them think about fancy version of colors: Pink. Gold, Rainbow....

I'll only buy if they DON'T have a home buttons. My last two phones have been Samsung, but this is the reason I wouldn't buy them for my next phone. Physical buttons below the screen do not work well with >5" phones as far as ergonomics are concerned.

Well, me and millions of ppl use the audio jack not only for headphones.
And for us is a dealbreaker.
BTW the 'front facing speakers' is the biggest BS of all, though.

First off. The low light performance of the s7/edge is better than that of the pixel. Secondly the headphone jack can go if we get Bluetooth 5.0. It'll give them the space needed for a bottom front facing speaker. Who still uses wired headphones anyway. Oh yeah most people do. Doesn't make it right. Who has never gotten their headphone cord stuck on something and the earbuds violently yanked out of their ears or worse. No one! Your readers need to try to embrace change. I haven't used wired headphones since 2014 personally. They'll be phased out eventually.

Taking away the removable battery, the FM, the IR, these are the reasons I now buy LG over Samsung. I will never, ever buy a phone without a plug for headphones. I've done the whole wireless headphones thing and they are more trouble than they are convenient.

Just for the 4k battery instead of the 3k one. But, I'm looking forward to nougat, bc then I can force it to run only 1080p or even 720p. Then I will see if the 3k battery can do it. Even with the low game settings, battery dies too fast. I'm gaming HIT and some messenger games. Chatting a lot tho, bc of ldr.

I don't care about the brand, I don't care about who make it, but somebody should make a phone with these specs:

This is the perfect phone (but it does not exist):

                                  - removable battery and removable back cover (most important)
Thanks to the removable back cover, you can replace the battery to a bigger, higher capacity extended battery. That's why you can't find any extended battery for LG G5. And that's why ZeroLemon announced that they will release a 10 000mAh extended battery for LG V20.
                                  - plastic body
                                  - flat screen (NO curves)
                                  - some bezels all around the screen (the bezels are important, they make the phone usable by avoiding accidental touch at the edge of the screen when the phone is in your hand, plus the bezels protect better the screen when you drop the phone or place it face down)
                                  - at least Snapdragon 820 CPU or better
                                  - at least 4 GB RAM
                                  - heat pipe cooling for the CPU/GPU to reduce overheating and throttling
                                  - f1.8 or brighter camera aperture
                                  - single camera (NO dual) with good low light performance
                                  - good OIS and EIS (V20 has horrible EIS, the SteadyShot) (all LG phones have bad OIS, they have "wobble / jello effect" when recording video)
                                  - full featured manual video and photo modes (like in LG phones), also it should have good auto mode with true to life color reproduction instead of oversaturated colors
                                  - FM Radio
                                  - IR blaster
                                  - option to manually change the screen resolution and framerate (some phones have it, like Note 7 and LG V20)

In short, I want a phone that has Snapdragon 820 and removable battery.

LG G5 and V20 phones are the closest to be the perfect, but both of them have flaws.

                                  - Both of them have fragile camera glass, but the problem is more serious with V20. The reason why their camera glass is fragile is that they have a big one piece glass instead of small circle shaped, separated glasses for each camera. As you know, the larger the surface area, the more likely it will break. That's why G5's and V20's camera glasses are fragile. It's a design flaw which affects all devices.
                                  - LG removed many software features from G5 that were present on their older flagship phones (V10, G4) like dual window, manual video mode, ... Maybe they will readd these in the Nougat update.
                                  - Unfortunately LG has changed the camera in V20, so it has the worst camera in 2016, especially the low-light performance. Even G5 is better. And we haven't talked about that the auto mode of V20 is useless.

Moreover, I live in Europe, so there is no V20 here.

Unfortunately, according to rumors, LG G6 will be an Apple / Samsung copy fashionphone clone with non-removable battery. This means there will never ever be any flagship phone with removable battery. V20 is the last one in the world.

We loved and preferred Samsung over Apple because it gave us Removable User Replaceable Batteries, Hot Swappable Dedicated Memory Card Slot, Dual SIM - Duos, Home Button, 3.5 mm jack and FM Radio ... pls give us back and retain All These. And what needs to be rectified is the Laggy Touchwiz and proper Software Optimisation. Do what's actually necessary, instead of ruining everything.
