My main point is for all brands, 4GB should be the target amount, 3GB is completely fine (if RAM management and software optimization is good). As long as a flagship smartphone has 3-7GB of RAM in 2016 and 4-6GB of RAM in 2017, that's good enough.

Sammy being the first, but thats because Samsung is all up your face when you enter certain mobile provider stores.
Yesterday went to one VIP store...Honest to god here,. ONLY Samsung phones in there active to examine, occupying about 80% of shelves, S7 and S7 edge occupying even three representative shelves in a same store,
and a few HTC and Huawei inactive, one Xperia E5 inactive. And NO other flagships on shelves except Samsungs, at all....
Thats how Samsung gets its popularity and sale numbers....
Thats why I never buy Samsung.
