you can get 5000 mAh battery for around $200-$400, one thing this crap has mid-range chipset which is not equal to the price, it should have a beast cpu and gpu.
This phone is not worth for the price

As usually users will never be satisfied with anything! For those who are saying the phone is ugly, I think this phone is not meant to look beautiful but to withstand days of use. So no one has forced you to buy this beast of endurance, there are many choices out there okay!! Am sure there are alot of people who prefer endurance of a smartphone rather than other things.

A Chinese phone that cost... moreDude the main selling point of this phone is the beastly battery, which to be sincere I prefer in a smartphone. SD653 isn't bad at all! Am even even in 5years to come you won't find a flagship smartphone with such endurance capacity, nowdayz many phone companies have up their game in terms of chipset, camera and build quality; many forget about the most important thing which is battery endurance. So big up to Gionee!!

Gionee is known for pricing their phones exorbitantly. Mediocre phones with prohibitive price tag!

This phone is actually very good, and could be even better with a price tag of $600, at least $700, but almost nobody will buy it at a price tag of $1,000. It could be sold very well with a lower price, a microSD card slot, a better processor, a 3.5mm headphone jack, a newer version of Android and a slightly better design, because the capacitive buttons are ugly as hell.

                        Try harder, Gionee.

I wish it costed less, had snapdragon 8 series processor and weighed under 200gm. I would have given it a chance. I quite liked the looks. It is different and has a character of its own.

Blimey 7100mAh for just a midrange Soc653? Surely with the midrange Cpu you would need a bigger battery?

238g for a phone! Now that certainly is a brick! Will your pocket be big enough for it lol

Anonymous, 27 Dec 2016So they already copycat Apple by removing 3,5mm jack? RE... moreAll the latest smartphone leave out the earphone jack. I dont think this trend going to die out. We all thought non-removable battery just a phase and removable battery will come back. Well, look at where we are now. All smartphone use non-removable battery. We also thought Samsung dual curved edge just a phase and will die out, look at what all the premium flagship copying now. All the thing we thought stupid stays for good in the end. Audio jack will be gone for good from what I see although I want it to stay.

I think speaker will be next to be gone. You all know the speaker-less Sharp Aquos series. Emulated again by Mi Mix. Not the main speaker but the front earpiece. Used what it calls “cantilever piezoelectric ceramic acoustic technology” to do away with the speaker setup, which works in a similar way to bone conduction audio technology, found in some headphones and previously in Google Glass. Hold the phone up and touch it to your face, and you’ll hear the call. An ultrasonic proximity sensor is used instead of an infrared module, so it can be hidden behind the screen.

I dont think anyone will be against this speaker-less idea. It allows for a bezel-less design. It doesn't have any disadvantage. Afterall, we starting to get rid of the home button. We already replace usb 2.0 with usb type c. All the old tech will be replaced soon. The fingerprint sensor we see now on most phone will be gone soon too. It will be embedded behind the glass. Still think all of this stupid?
