Some guy from Greece, 24 Jan 2011What's the difference??This is what i got from samsung wave forum:

Bada = Linux Kernal + nucleusRTOS

bada actually consist of nucleus Real time operating system and uses it as O.S. RTOS is what we all have been using in all samsung phones for the past decade which are all dumb phones.

this is also the reason why wave is cheap according to its hardware which is even better then galaxy S (Galaxy does not have flash light and video recording is only at 22 FPS at max its 24 FPS, it also does not have an all metalic body like wave.....and many other minor things.) because the operating system is the cheapest available.

wave is blazing fast because of RTOS cos it is very small........lol

Also because of this RTOS samsung does not ever compare their BADA to iOS or android and call it smartphone for the masses

all the apps that are being developed are being devoleped on the basis of kernal and not on NUCLEUS RTOS(because nucleous RTOS is a closed os)

What will i buy when Meego comes out? I'll have to see Meego first. And then it depends on my needs and my badget at the time and the competion not only on the OS but on the devices themselfs. Nothing is certain. I've owned a SE before and it was a great phone. Unmatched by any Nokia at it's time... We'll see...

Megalord, 24 Jan 2011I suggest you get your facts right. Bada phones like the wa... moreAlright... Another time:
Could s8500 get the Adroid? Yes.
Did it? Nope. It got Bada.
Samsung chose Bada instead of Adroid. Is that a good definition of ditch for you?
Bada has found it's place in a very capable smartphone and has been a very succesfull combination with it. Now Samsung is furtherly developing Bada by adding more functions to it. Doesn't sound much like the platform for a feature phone, to me...

                            To your questions then:

"Also, do you know what bada was meant to serve? Its not a alternative to android, and was never meant to be."
--> "By the looks of it, Samsung is positioning Bada to be a good alternative to Android - and iOS too." says in the article:
                            http://www.gsmarena.com/details_for_bada_20_emerge_new_ui_and_nfc_in_store-news-2157.php

"Are you seriously thinking that if Samsung were to embrace bada 100%, their upcoming flagship phones are still on android?"
--> I don't know. Do you? Bada clearly is up for the task. YET. With Samsung investing on it how can you be sure that it won't be in the future?

"And do you actually know the ratio of the upcoming bada phones compared to android phones from the same company?"
--> Once again, i don't. Do you? How about the ratio of SALES among the two platforms for Samsung until know? I bet, though, Samsung does and Samsung is investing on Bada.

"Dude, stop your hallucinations and face the facts. The well may be small and comfortable but its time to get out and face the world."
--> I'd suggest you to stop insulting poeple you don't know. As for facts you are free to present yours, if you like. I haven't seen any of them so far. No information links, no numbers to support your opinion, no logic in your assumptions. No one needs an invalid opinion...

Each OS' has its own incurring costs and the profitability depends on the volume sold. So If Nokia goes with both S3 and MeeGo they cannot expect a serious profit, or worst they can expect large losses. Ask yourself, as a faithful Nokia customer, what will you buy? An S3 or a MeeGo Nokia? Nokia better make up their mind and "clear their desk". Unfortunately for the (soo fresh) S3 customers, dropping the Symbian 3(which will be inferior to Meego in every aspect) is the best option.

Anyway, the more OS the better for customers, minus the ongoing worshippers war.
