The report also notes that the Galaxy S8 will be launched sometime in April (which is inline with what we've been hearing recently).

Samsung used to be the first. First Amoled maker, first qhd, first 3gb of ram, first 8 core , first with mammoth removable battery.

Then they said f**k it, released iterative designs and people are buying them in droves. They do not care to make a great product, they care to sell in droves even if it means harming their long term sales... Businesses (of all kinds) are sooo short sighted. Only Steve jobs had vision, that Tim Cook guy is a typical businessman, killing iphone's long term prospects for short sighted gain. A bit like Samsung guys.

Ok, I get your frustration, but I am just looking for an official figure. I on the other hand, have an S7 Edge and it's by far the best and most innovative (at least design wise) phone i've ever had.

We can chat about opinions, but I am interested in the sales figures...does anyone have some information? Because i can't seem to find anything specific on google and nothing on gsmarena either...

Also with sealed battery, no FM radio, no ir blaster, basically nothing to stand out from other brands of course it only sold 3 mil more. P9 and Oneplus 3 came like a storm in 2016. Small bezels and gimmicks won't boost S8 sales to 60 million either.

I don't think this is gonna happen. There are still too many people who don't want to miss the 3,5mm headphone jack. This alone is reason enough, why Samsung won't sell 60 million units of the S8. But another reason is the strong competition of the chinese, like Xiaomi, Huawei, Meizu, LeEco, ZUK, aso. Samsung already lost some market share and the chinese are gaining.
