Apple, together with CR, found an inconsistency in running the battery tests and fixed a bug that appeared during the collaboration.

    If the change in testing methodology improves battery life, previous generations of laptops should benefit from it too. This means that new MacBooks still suck.

      Isn't it unfair for other laptop manufacturers. Because Consumer Reports is using a different method to test the MacBooks while using the old script for other manufacturers. Wouldn't the new method increase the battery life of their laptops as well.

        Surely turning the browser cache off is much the same as just visiting different websites and having to download all the data each page...
        So you can get 19.5 hours if you just visit the same page all day with caching enabled or 3.75 hours if you view new pages or sites... hmm
