If you are fa... more"Look, after all it comes to human behaviour.
If you are familiar and satisfied with an OS you will not want another one.
You see this behaviour best at iPhone users.
With satisfied Nokia users is the same.
Same with Android.
If Android grew so much in a year (600% increase) it seems that either there were a lot of unsatisfied users of other OS'ses or that increase is based on the choice of a huge number of first time smartphone users."
Makes sense so far.
"Either way, Android will keep its users and for sure it will get more."
Lost it. Are you an oracle or something?
"Now look at Meego. Meego at the moment has practically 0 users. The only users pool available to it will be Symbian users and some new users. But the new users will ask themselves: What can Meego offer and Adroid can't? I ask you the same question?"
I ask you the same quenstion myself. Does Adroid offer anything that S^3 doesn't? At a compareable price, please.
And quit this "it has flash 10.1" argument. How many Adroids have it anyway? How much do they cost? How long did (those who finally got it) they have to wait, for it to arrive? Symbian users might wait less time, and have it on significally cheaper devices!
Lower resolution screen?
Ugly UI?
Less apps?
Be serious... Non of these are even close to the definiton of the word problem. Lower resolution isn't even noticeable, ugly Ui is a laughable argument and fewer apps just don't make any sense when you already have more that what you'll ever need.

AnonD-616, 03 Feb 2011yes nokia can do that , my friend ,,, huhuhuhuh
The most ... moreYou are soo naive:) You just don't get it. Top performance game computers have 1 GB RAM dedicated to the videocard, so the games can run at incredible screen resolution and 60fps frame rate.
For a 480x850 screen that 512 MB ram would be a huge waste.
And a 1.6 Ghz Atom processor needs a fan. It would be unbelievable funny to have a phone with a fan inside. I believe N9 might have a fanless 1.2 Ghz Atom processor and max 1GB total RAM, but anyway, in no case will have 512 graphic card dedicated RAM.

Anonymous, 03 Feb 2011Look, after all it comes to human behaviour.
If you are fa... moreSo i buy a android phone and like it. Use it for a while and enjoy it. Spend a whole lot of cash to get this premium phone and i feel on top of the world. It runs the latest iteration of android and i feel like i have the latest and best from the rest. Then a guy comes across with a cheap phone running all the stuff that my phone has and is able to perform at the same level of my phone comfortably too but the catch here is that he bought it way cheaper than what i paid for mine!!! How do you think i would feel? Happy that this guy can do all the stuff that i bragged about with my phone. I dont think so. That guy would just rip the joy out of me leave me rather distraught and unhappy as he'd take away the uniqueness without even breaking a sweat!!
Now, take the Nokia meego phones. You want that feeling to last and not be mass produced in so many markets all together. The meego platform is to run on "HIGH END DEVICES". If you find on running on any other they'd probably be cheap trade offs but not mass produced as a product that is intended to seriously compete with other phones. That individualisation would last with Nokia meego devices especially considering that no other manufacturer is on board to have the OS on their phones. There would be no mass and variation in the meego platform like what we see on android. The iOS does well because of what? 2 things: Quality and Individualisation. The biggest factors in the phones are these factors. Others are just by the way aspects. This hype was created by marketing and even though it has flaws, it still sells well. Nokia would sell their products as that i.e. to creat that individualisation factor and knowing their high end products quality, they would not compromise on that aspect at all as it is high end.
Now, your question was on "whom would by this phone?". I think that explains that. I dont want to be like everyone else, I want to be unique and so does millions of others.
Lastly, android have messed it up by having so many manufacturers on board with the OS. This strategy has taken away that awesomeness of android. They should have had 1 or 2 manufacturers and thats it. The above reasoning is the very same reason why i'd never get a blackberry as everyone here has one. They ask me to get one and then i whip out my N8 and they say...WOW!!! What phone is that? I just show off some stuff to them and then they come back at me saying...but i have BIS with IM intergration...LOL!!! I have that too i say!!!
The fact of the matter is that after the meego OS is released and shows its true awesomeness and raw power, every manufacturer that jumped on the Android bandwagen would now want into meego as they'd want that individualism factor differentiation from others because of the very same reasoning above (Everybody has it and even the cheapies too but i will create hardware to seperate us from others but until they copy that too!!!LOL)!!
I HOPE NOKIA JUST TELLS THEM TO GET LOST.....

AnonD-291, 03 Feb 2011"....we are looking at a screen with 480x854 pixel of ... moreyes nokia can do that , my friend ,,, huhuhuhuh
The most anticipated announcement on Nokia's part is its first MeeGo handset. The Nokia N9-00 with a physical keyboard is rumored DOA , and replaced with a touchscreen-only NokiaN9-01 , which is to make a cameo at the MWC Expo this month. Nokia's newflagship should have an Intel Atom chipset , and a large display, as well as a similar camera to the great one on the Nokia N8 .
Over at NokiaPort.de the observant Germans have unearthed the actual specs of the device from the MeeGo's source code, debugging reports and patch list. Now we have a pretty clear picture what the device might look like - we are looking at a screen with 480x854 pixel of resolution, probably over 4.1", a 1.6GHz Atom CPU, 1 GB RAM , graphics processor at 200MHz with 512MB dedicated memory, HDMI -out, NFC chip, GPS, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, as well as a 21Mbps HSPA+radio. Sounds like a well-rounded deviceto us, especially if the camera rumors materialize. The picture below is of an AAAVA concept reference design for a phone running MeeGo, powered by Intel's chipset. The Nokia MeeGo device may or may not look anything like that. this is nokia ,, not android google ,,,

But the new users will ask themselves: What can Meego offer and Adroid can't? I ask you the same question? If both OS's are very close or similar, the choice will be based on the amount of apps offered. Saying that any Linux app will be available in Meego is just stupid. It will be not. One reason is that no current linux apps are created in mind with 480x800 screen resolution. Secondly, the hardware and the kernel plays a role too. So there, practically no current linux appa will run in Meego out-of the box.
