You have to give credit where it's due if this was a few years ago you'd be 100% right but they've been doing a good job lately considering the enormous number of phones they release every year.

D... moreI agree I don't care about synthetic benchmarks or a split second difference in speed UX is everything, I only brought it up because the idiot I was responding to keeps on claiming that Sony is the best in every department whether it's UI or speed or camera or build material or screen quality or battery life/charging rate etc. If he said that it's the best TO HIM that's another story, but to say that it's the best product in the whole smartphone industry when there are dozens of better phones out there at equal or lesser value is just astronomically dumb. I praise Sony for their software updates but that's the only thing they seem to be good at these days after all they have to keep their fans satisfied long enough to release a "new" lackluster product, doesn't matter who's first eventually all the big time brands and flagships will update to Android 7, many of whom already did.

Samsung is always making changes either to their hardware or software, that's progress in my book. Material design is simply the best looking UI Google has concocted and most people including myself love it. Not many people who enjoy using new features are tech savvy enough to root, flash or install Xposed so they buy Samsung (the first to introduce multi-window) instead, in your case you consider them bloatware so it doesn't pertain to you. Sony can't decide whether they want to go the stock route or be more like Samsung or LG or one of the Chinese companies lol

I' not a fan of this material design approach, no matter what brand it is. As for the features you praise so much, most of them can be achieved on any android phone just by rooting it and flashing either a custom rom, either installing xposed framework + modules.
Give me a Samsung with sony's software and I'll buy it :)
You're talking to someone that deleted 80% of the stock rom, including GPS, Bluetooth, nfc, Camera, radio, screen mirroring and the list goes on.
In conclusion, what you may consider as a feature, others like me see it as bloatware that needs to be deleted.
I'm currently thinking about deleting the play store and everything Google related. Anyone has a good alternative for it?

samsung must offer upgrades updates -to loyal customers - galaxy note 4 also ..and STOP daily leakes on s8 ..suspense is boring unnecessary ..considering working life of most cellphones is 2-3yrs or so ...wonder if samsung hq ever reads customers feedback on gsmarena ...our experience is samsung good products are very good ..

Try a ... moreI have a tough time believing that since all their phones have 3GB of RAM or less lol it's certainly not the best UI out their the text, stock/system icons, etc look FUGLY and far from stock. And besides it's much easier to update Sony phones because they tend to lack innovative features and don't have a heavier skin compared to TW; which is one of the reasons why so many people buy a Samsung device in the first place other than its spectacular hardware features.

Sony, Motorola, OnePlus3, Pixel....they are all on Nougat for a long time....
