Samsung Galaxy Note 8 still coming, mobile chief confirms

I loved the Note 4 N910C and I still have it. I did not buy any subsequent Note for two reasons - No replaceable battery and no FM radio except for phones for use on the Sprint network.
I hate the direction Samsung has gone with the utterly stupid curved display. It serves no useful purpose. One cannot cover every mm of it with a tempered glass screen protector and one cannot protect it properly with a proper case that protects the sides if dropped.
I also hate the narrow but taller form factor of the latest Samsung phones. I don't have girly hands and use my phone in landscape most of the time.
Getting tired of waiting for the Note 4 replacement, I bought and LG V20 and most recently an LG Stylo 3 Plus.
I actually prefer to carry the LG Stylo 3 Plus as my daily driver. It's an AMAZING phone for $225. It's absolutely unbelievable. It has a stylus which doesn't have all the features that the Samsung Note has, but it does everything I need it to. The display is bright and sharp. It's just the right width and it can be covered completely with tempered glass because it's flat.
The device is extremely light also. No metal in the frame. It feels like holding my old Note 2 which was light and had nice round edges. Who needs metal and glass when the phone is obsolete in 6 months?
The Stylo 3 Plus has amazing battery life. It lasts at least 24 hours and is replaceable. The funny thing is that it uses the exact same battery that the V20 does. So I have lots of Batteries for it and a couple chargers.
Surprisingly, the Qualcomm 435 SOC works well enough. It's not as fast as the 821 that's in the V20 but I frankly don't notice that much difference.
The Stylo 3 would be perfect if it had a great camera, HDMI out through Slimport, and screen mirroring. For another $100 or so, it probably could have had that.
It also has the FM radio which is disabled in so many phones for no valid reason.

Notebook 7, released last year, is a smartphone that has come to me incredibly large.
However, due to a series of events, a lot of disappointments and such products are not available at this time.
Therefore, we are eagerly praying that we will be released a little earlier with the successful launch of Note 8.
And I would like to see a fashionable color such as red system color at the time of initial release.

Btw, I was one of the consumers on the front line when it came to protesting against highly sought after features that Samsung took away. My previous post has nothing to do with those things, though.

To be honest, I am still the proud user of Galaxy Note Edge and the Spen, I am graphic designer and marketer and for my needs, there is still no other phone to fulfil my needs. I really like the separated always visible edge panel with access to the apps on one tap. And Samsung I really hope you read it, please bring back always visible edge panel to the Note 8, because that has the real potential for the edge. Only one thing that can be improved with the Note Edge is the limited settings of the edge panel and locked SDK. There is always space for the improvements, isn't it?

God forbid that Samsung stays on schedule for a Q3 release of the Note 8. Just the thought of such a thing would be totally out of the norm, and completely unacceptable!
That has to be the case here, considering that the company's roadmap has always been determined by consumers, and has solely changed according to our demands. Right?
Shame on you, Samsung!

Anonymous, 24 Jan 2017S8 wouldn't have a compartment to house the pen. You'd have... moreNothing stops them from putting a holster on S8 plus model ... it's big enough. Also just by starting writing on screen you could make it directly going into comments mode. That's hardly a reason to wait 6 more months, gimme a break.
The amount of people being happy with this news piece is everything that is wrong with the industry, no wonder that Samsung would exploit the fact. Good luck with having to wait 6 more months for a simple feature. Cheap tricks like that and the inability of its fanbase to demand better behavior is what kept me away from Samsung lately.

Tekkie, 24 Jan 2017Spoken like a true consumer. gobble gobble gobble. In reply to your comments, The Note Series is the Productivity and Powerhouse of the Galaxy Series of Phones.
Take Porsche for example, The 911 is the Top of the range, Whilst those that haven't got that sort of money choose the Boxter.
Those that want power and Productivity and the latest tech, Cpu and Ram,Screen etc will go with the Note and let's not forget the most important part Stylus!
Ahhh and the Gobble Gobble Gobble comments are what I would expect from one of those cheap and value for money IPhone owners lol!

FreezeGame, 23 Jan 2017To my understanding, the battery would have been fine had t... moreForm factor had nothing to do with it. The battery house was poorly manufactured. The top right side of the affected batteries curved more prominently, there were some that had no insulation strip, the welding process resulted in structural anomalies, and an internal component was misaligned. Speaks of poor quality control, not poor design. People just don't seem to get that.
That thing about there being no room for the battery to expand is bollocks. Otherwise, we'd have a lot more than just a few units spontaneously combusting as it would have been inherent in virtually every note 7. The guy who proposed that explanation did not have proper data and his observational prowess was questionable at best.

For someone who buys phone every 2.year and end up here in eu with note3, next upgrade would be note5 that is not here. Then it would be note6 (or7) and still no luck here. Wonder why is it with all that happened samsung still haven't released note here even if mid-range. Well, lg got few but you can hardly call that note with such a pen. I would welcome to see small or cheap version at least until hi-end one came out.
