check the headline and you get it, it was about new flagship launches, Note 7 was lot more popular before samsung had to kill it.

Im 100% sure S7 or S7 edge was best selling android flagship

Pls read yourself first-... moreIf they improve their marketing strategy, they can easily outclass Samsung and Apple, but sadly, they don't seem to be interested with that. But now has changed and Sony is going to make a comeback to bring back the old golden days of their world class devices

Sony started to have a step up with their sales, not extremely large, but still an improvement, and that's a big sign of Sony's comeback. Sony going to fall? Lol an impossible thing. With world class quality products, how will that fall down? The XZ topped as the best selling phone of Q4 2016, something that LG will achieve when Sony goes out of the market, yes, NEVER. Mark my words, Samsung and Apple are going extinct soon, as Sony will once again dominate the world. I'll wait for Sony to make an explosive device with no headphone jack before they go down

Tourettes Guy, 25 Jan 2017"If LG will follow the same path as of SONY, htc and asus; ... moreHe wasn't talking about revenue or profit, he was talking about pricing. Sony, HTC, and Acer all price their phones horribly, and for LG to do the same, would have them fading into obscurity like above-mentioned companies. (It's gonna happen to Sony, too, just you wait)

If samsung can do it, there's no reason lg can't rise above losses as well. But they'll have to do much better. Like fix their phones' bootloop problems and poor battery lives.

Sony's financial results for its Q1 (April-June) bring some good news. Sony Mobile posted a total profit of $4 million which may not be much, but the division is no longer operating at a loss thanks to trimming and reorganization of its business. This also means it's no longer in jeopardy of closure, at least for now.

It's not all roses, though, as Sony needs to sell more phones.

They should address the issues on their smartphones like the bootloop problem and the defective USB-C cables. And they're severely outgunned by samsung on the semiconductor business so they really can't leverage on their own chipsets.

LG should target Samsung as its prime competitor. It's the time they should revise their pricing and product portfolio to target mass market. If LG will follow the same path as of Sony, HTC and Asus; it will also face the same consequences. I am very much impressed with Samsung as they have balanced their pricing in between premium and affordable (cheap) segment which is happily accepted by most of consumers considering brand value of product. I wish to see LG also competing in same segment.

LG in smartphone market is like Saif Ali Khan in Bollywood. Big name but not commercially successful. Everythime they get a new reason to fail. Sometimes by luck, sometimes they make that reason themselves and sometimes they are simply boring don't know why
