What I find even more ridiculous is people on these forums trying to defend it. If I bought a flagship gaming PC and it had less memory than one from the same manufacturer that cost substantially less ftom a cheaper range of gaming PC,s don't think anyone in their right mind would try to defend it. Basically if we are paying top price I expect top specs. and 4GB of RAM doesn't meet that criteria any more. If it turns out to be true then Samsung just come across as lazy and arrogant and that they cannot be bothered and that is not acceptable on top price phone.

AnonD-639537, 29 Jan 2017Watching Doctor Strange on this phone is good I think.I doubt it, the tall screen ratio will leave big black bars on both sides of the display, because the video is in a 16:9 ratio while the screen is 18.5:9

Something that I find completely against common sense, is that a MID-RANGE Samsung (C9 pro) that costs $450 has 6GB of RAM, but the S8 that will cost over $900 won't... It just seems so impossible that the company flagship that's supposed to show the best of everything available in the world would downgrade from a mid-range that costs half the price. I refuse to believe the 4GB rumor because Samsung cannot be so dumb, that they wouldn't add 2GB more from the year old S7 to their FLAGSHIP, while they already have done so in a mid-range. All common sense points to the leak being false (maybe 4GB in a proto device?), it could make sense if Samsung hadn't done a 6GB RAM device before, but they have, in a MID-RANGE

Certainly not.. VenyaGeskin1 creates his own renders. The render above is based on the Evan Blass leak. But, it's not the official render.

Whether dual cameras or not it is not it that makes the camera captures the best images(photos and videos) but it can be fanciful how you design the phone with the dual cameras.

Looks fake.. for a phone this big why woild they put the scanner all the way up there? You would need E.T fingers to unlock it.

Anonymous, 29 Jan 2017I'm curious really? How should a $900 flagship perform? Sig... moreEverybody is making copromises.

S6 lost both the SD, remove bale batt and had small battery.
S7 still had no mammoth battery, the selfie cam was nothing special for 2016

LG G4 lost the ultra slim bezels, had small battery for the size and was running a second best chip.

LG G5 had veeery small battery, very big device for the screen size, ugly back, bad mechanism to swap the battery (practically killed regular swapping)

HTC misuses a lot of the space (often to put her logo on), typically had bad cameras (until HTC 10), always rela timely small embedded batteries ... etc

Apple , again small batteries, so-so selfie cam, low resolution screen, extremely closed system...

S8 (according to rumours) had it all perfectly. Good size for the screen size (no wasted space on bezels), possibly good battery (if they were to continue last year's trend). It was supposed to get 8GB of RAM, dual camera, usb-c. Under the glass fingertip sensor, wacom pen support, stereo speakers, desktop mode support....

All rumours of course, but we had valid reasons to believe them. And a single leak 2 days ago, pretty much much killed most/all of them. I think the only thing standing at this point is the slim bezels and maaaaybe the desktop mode. Both secondary things.

Point is that companies never make their phones perfect. I mean they used to (S4 anyone? It was literally top on everything for its time, same with Note 3) but they don't anymore. If anything flagships are getting less and less interesting as the years pass by. Their ommissions glow more brightly than their inclusions (of features).

Sadly, optimalization does. HTC M8 on Android 5.0 outperforms the same M8 with 4.4.2 in benchmark tests. The fact that a 2014 cheapo Nokia phone (SD 200 dual-core 1.2 GHz, 1 GB RAM) on Android 4.3 outperforms upper mid-range or even flagships at that time at gaming is an alarm to all OEMs- stop the hardware race, do sonething with software too! Maybe Samsung is going the right path, but definitely not with TouchWiz in it's current meta.

It's ok for left handed but right handed people will cross over the camera lens.

And no home button will be interesting, hmm

I'm liking the look of the HTC U Ultra but I think HTC have an ace up their sleeve in May.
