AnonD-291, 09 Feb 2011nokia "lovers" were calling the report by engadge... moreThey all published the rumor. Rumors are news nowdays.

About Reuters rumor - yes they published a rumor too, even engadget says:
"Of course, Nokia has never gone official with any handset, only saying that the first MeeGo device will be a 2011 event (after missing the planned 2010 launch). So really, this is a lot like saying something that didn't exist still doesn't exist."

They pretty much accuse Nokia for not releasing a phone they thought it existed...

i dont think people will buy nokia phones for it s onboard features . I do not think people understand what more a n series can do more and no matter how hightech it is even if you cant fint those feature on any other smartphones . Bassically nokia did not go with a image to please and suck google nsa psiop rear end they went for the features not the easy way .....

One of the mistakes nokia has made is to chanage is mobile naming system quite awkward.. C series x series when we hear the name x3-01 and x3-02 we don't get the image of the phone. Nokia number system has got quite confusing... and it's one of the areas where they are lacking... Anyone agrees????

Wht ever this man has said is absolutely true. I live in UAE and as mentioned in the article, Nokia has lost a large market share. About three to four years back nobody would buy any phone except for nokia here but now people are buying android, iOS and blackberry phones. If he (CEO) takes the right decisions i think nokia still has a chance.

I'm happy to see this guy admit the truth... Nokia is dying a slow death and has already lost many of its fan boys(including me). This statement should have come at least a year back, unfortunately its too late and see how Samsung and Htc's sales have sky rocketed and at the same time Apple also increased their shares. Guh.. too late Nokia..

nokia is crazy. What they should have done is first deny everything about being a little behind and then blame service providers and then finally blame their customers that perhaps they are the one responsible. And then reassuring them that a new software upgrade will fix everything and give something cheap for free with every new phone. The could have done what i said and get away with it. But i think they are just being responsible and mature.

I saw this coming, staunch Nokia & Symbian lovers will hate this guy but he's bold & brave. Give him time Nokia, you'll see. Look at what Sunjhay Jha did with Motorola, once a dead company but he resurrected it in to an Android powerhouse.

Oh great, just what we needed, MegaFlamebait for Android fanboys. Let the Android fanboy flood begin... This guy definitely has gall but the good thing is, they recognize their errors now and now can work to fix them. And Nokia will never use Android and I'm glad they won't. I don't want every phone to run Android. Only one OS would equal monopoly therefore they can charge whatever they want and you'd HAVE to pay it and they could do whatever they wanted to Android and you'd have to accept it if you wanted a cell phone. Android is a good OS but we need more for competition for the better of the consumers. Meego will fill that gap and I can't wait.
