I hope this is a sign that Nokia is going to change their ways and change it for the better. Maybe they should go back to do Television sets... good, strong reliable TV sets those Nokias...

they only read it from website review and from the site that support whatever they want it to hear.
thats why you never know how bad that symbian perform accept for call,sms and changing ringtones.
try playing NES emulator and compare it with iOS or android,
and tell me which one run more efficient
efficient doesnt mean "can run with less hardware", it mean it can run smooth,give you better experience and do the task fast.
it is not efficient to wait a long loading,lag,slow,freeze or even hang and restart, if that is efficient and this world must be grazy.
wake up. you the customer deserve more.

So now Nokia will focus on tablets uh. I don't think that's a good idea. Nokia desperately needs a revolutionary smartphone I don't know what they're waiting. LG and SE are quickly catching up and Nokia is way behind.
The finns make excellent devices but they need a better OS, MeeGo could be it.

[deleted post]and Swarm is a poor example anyway. it's the bugmeister, and doesn't work consistantly across platforms and is dependent on which version of android you have. upgrade your OS at your peril!

I think the best strategy that nokia should come up would be to continue making a tablet phone and make internet tabs like ipad..since they are shrinking with smartphones..why not leave with it and go with tablet phones as their main dish...or use meego with intel core as their high end tablet phones,,windows for communicator and business phones,,symbian for music phones...and all with carl zeiss 12 or higher mp with large sensor...the only reason that u are behind with other company is u stick with symbian and u just change it with a diffrent hardware...its not just about the hardware but also the software and its other ingredients..i hope this nokia can recover...i love this brand since i was in grade school,about 10 years now ^_^ TC

Ghost, 10 Feb 2011You are missing something m8. Look at E5 ;)The E5-00 is certainly nice, but it's hardly a crowd pleaser. It's essentially an E71 with a better camera when it comes down to it - so basically they've rebuilt an old phone without really doing much to update it. And the E71 looked better! Besides, these are all phones with keypads - where Symbian is good. Not so good when it comes to touch screens.

in my opinion the bold step would be adopting maemo for mid.range and meego for high.end. while they wil be suportng symbian up.to 2012. MS wil alow nokia for customizations in WP7 in case of any alliances.

If Nokia really abandon MeeGo (what I don't believe), it's obviously it's going to Android or Windows Phone 7. No other option.

i did compare it side by side with iOS and android,thats why i dont feel so sad when i loose my phone to a thief.
if you a programer please explain it more clearly what make that keypad OS more special than iOS and android? please you really cant make me trust you because i also heavy mod my n5800, my omnia wimno 6.5 and playing with my girl SG5 and x10mini and playing with ipad and 5ipodtouch with 2 gen 3 and 2 gen 4 and 1 gen 2.
so please speak the truth dont hold it, use your tecnical language.
i never like flashy thing, i always turn it off, really off.
just tell my why that 2 OSes never stand in front of symbian,what so cool about it beside call and sms and changing ringtones.
ohh i can pick multiple files with my n5800? out of the box?without have to installing an apps to help me enable it? come on...

and android lack multi files selection too?
try it first man, dont just comparing something you neved did compare.
and please the next time you have those 3 gadget with u try to compare RDM or VNC and thats the 1st reason i leave symbian.
people dont have to loyal to one brand, they never have to do that, because you are a customer and a customer deserve more and deserve the best what they can get with their hard earn cash.
you dont have to be loyal to a brand with broken product and if you do, it will be called stupid.
yes if one day there will be more usefull OS and more powerfull OS i will turn my head to it.
because i want my money for the best.
you live only once in this world,so why give your self a bad OS for your smartphone?

i love my n900 so much
wish n9 will be my next phone if it hit the store
what i do on my n900 are
torrent downloading via famous app "transmission"
watch drama- tvb korean online withput the need of downloading in web browser for free
thee web borwser is powerful enough that i dont need pc on the go
fm transmitter builtin is just a bonus
snes emulator
final note that, i bought it under no wareranty, and the phone has no one single big issues, and i dont need the paid app to do what i do above

It takes only 3 to 5 minutes to hack a symbian...and mind it there is no limit to the potential of symbian if it is hacked....... Your i phone might can run the lite version of android but look at nokia symbian s60 v3 phones they can even run windows 95 or 98 or nt and that too 6 years back...talking about performance is there any competition to ngage games in the entire mobile eco system.... ios is gd but never ever compare it to symbian ..it will be just like comparing father symbian to little apple son
