Nokia’s first MeeGo device, N9, dropped before it's even official?

10 February, 2011
The rumored Nokia N9 may never get to see public light, says Reuters based on industry sources. Nokia refuses to comment the matter so this still isn't official. The Finns are all over the headlines these days...

The only thing Nokia really needs to change is the UI.

If they somehow manage to add fancy UI effects to Symbian^3, it would rival Android and iOS.

People who love nice little effects, like cool transparencies, swift and smooth transition effects, you know, basically children´s stuff should go for android os Ios.
If your priorities are by far the best camera phone in the market, plus excellent built materials and a stable (maybe not tyhe best good looking)and easy to use OS (not as easy as ios, but definetly much more easy to use than android), then go for NOKIA N8.
You have to admit that symbian 3 is a great step forward for nokia. Nokia will lose many followers if they change the OS that is now so attached to nokia in our minds.

This is how it's going to be.
Symbian will stay for mid-range phones.
          Meego for high-end phones.
Jana 40 edition will be for low end.
Android and WM7 will never be adopted by Nokia.
They will be wasting more time and money to have any of these OSs.
          It's quite simple.
Just wait till the end of the weekend and see what will happen.

Anonymous, 10 Feb 2011Who even appointed him Ceo seriously? I bliv he his a troja... moreDon't wory too much about him. He may seem to be a trojan horse right now but the future Nokia fans will hail him as a hero. Nokia will be alright and will be great again. For now, they need some great changes. A year from now, people would look back at this and agree with Elop that it was the right thing to do.

Reports came in that Nokia devices with Meego kept crashing all the time, and they weren't impressed. When tried with WP7, they ran like a dream.
Not sure what side of the fence to sit on if that's true!?
One side, you would say that Meego need to fix the problem if it's crashing, the other side says that you wave goodbye to it and try something different.
Either way, i think they'll be some exciting news from Nokia.

They just don't want to make the same mistake like they already did with symbian.

Meego like symbian^3 and Bada are a new total environment for the consumers. Which means less applications, more bugs.

                                This question might help them:
What really makes a smartphone "smart"?

if Nokia drops MeeGo many loyal customers will defect. I will be one of the defectors. My advice to Nokia; go for any OS, but retain MeeGO. Even Samsung is developing Bada, despite clinging to Android. It may be so cool in the future for Nokia to produce multiplatform phones: running Meego, android, WP7
