I guess they will be releasing a similar phone but based on the SD 835 soon afterwards.

AnonD-640339, 31 Jan 2017Couldn't they wait a few more months to get access to 835 c... moreI've heard that Samsung was given first access to the chip and will be the only phone being released this spring to have it. (Here's a link to an article: https://www.androidpit.com/samsung-qualcomm-snapdragon-835) The next Pixel may be able to get it since it's a fall release, but of course this is all rumor with no confirmation from Qualcomm.

If you think about it though, Samsung still makes people weary because of the S7 issue. The release has been delayed and it could be because of a fault found in the phone, but we'll never know.

Samsung bought out all the snapdragon 835 chips...so its gonna be MONTHS after their release before getting any 835 chips so they can lose money for waiting that long so they went instead with the 821 and is trying to optimize it for their phones

That would be hazardous for them to do so as their G6 will surely doesn't stand a chance to withstand S8 and Samsung's marketing blitz always leads to millions of sales. Even if they decide to delay their g6 then they will again have to face Note8 and iPhones.

He screen looks like an LCD still, while frankly I believe this and LG's less than nice software implementation are the only reason they don't sell well. Now also not using the competitive chipset gets in the way too. I like the small bezels though. Remind me of... their G2, lol. LG could have been ahead of their time back then if they carried on with it.
