They ve thrown away their history and betryed all their funs for what?
Do they really believe they will still have 30% of the market share using wp7?
Thats suicide.

NOOOO! NOT BLOODY WINDOWS MOBILE!!!!
If anything they should of jumped in to bed with HP. At least WebOS has a chance against iOS and android, just the hardware that was lacking.
Windows to me is dead.

Wow, Nokia and Microsoft. I cant believe it. I personally think this is a bad move, not a fan of windows at all, loved symbian, was waiting for maemo to take off, then meego, now this.........Nokia, its a wrap. Microsoft is terrible in the phone world, and now you adopt WP7 as the primary OS....????? Its over. The last great symbian devices: E71, N95, N82, mainly cause of the build quality, RAM, features, and.......SYMBIAN!!! Oh well.......Nokia, good luck.

At the moment Android allready holds 32% smartphone device market, nokia lets Symbian die and this means 30% market which is still in NOKIA hands will be lost. Does NOKIA except to hold this position with expanding WP7 from 3% at the moment to 30% or even more in future - sorry, but I think this mission is impossible. Only one way to adapt both platforms like HTC, Samsung and other did ...

I just hope Nokia will not discontinue their support with their latest symbian^3 devices. Symbian^3 is still relatively new and needs a lot of upgrades. =) Kudos for Nokia and WP7.

I think nokia must think about their blury and useless cameras.not sony but lg makes way better cameras than nokia.i think it is very difficult for nokia to revitlize while korean companies along with se are doing well.

AnonD-1227, 11 Feb 2011wow, there are quite a handful of jealous people here with ... moreOh, come on, you've got to admit that over the last two years Nokia has lost a bit of fair market share to other companies (Namely Google and Apple)! And the fact that Nokia had to bring MS into play speaks volumes!!! To me it seems like a desperate move to hang on to something for survival! And they just wouldn't give up to Android! Yes, Nokia has a large market share, but that share has to be maintained! And at the rate they're loosing such share, they can be out of the market in no time! Trust me, consumers want what is best for them and sometimes even the best in the market can flop!

We still can't say if they will s*ck... both are big companies, anything is possible, sharing their resources might give us something cool!
just like what they say, WP7 is way better than when Android first came out the scene.. so i believe it won't be as crap as most of you say... :)
BTW i'm an iOS and Android user..

wow, there are quite a handful of jealous people here with their doomsday conspiracy theories. They talk as if Nokia will be the 1st company to use Windows as their Mobile phone OS. Uff. Don't you know that there are other Phone companies that are already using WP7. Why doomsday only for Nokia. Symbian phones sell much more than android. So symbian + windows (+meego) for nokia will be much bigger than android + bada (+windows) for samsung.

Ghost, 11 Feb 2011Microsoft doesn't have anything to lose. NOKIA is desperate... moreAre you out of your mind?
Microsoft has an os that noone wants to buy. Its market share is below 10%.
Nokia, eventhough loosing ground, is the greatest manufacturer in the world.
If microsoft could sell wp7 to nokia, its marketshare will be instantly doubled at least.
I dont see how nokia will profit from this deal.
Regarding the proposal of nokia using web os instead, i can only say that this can only be a joke

Ghost, 11 Feb 2011Microsoft doesn't have anything to lose. NOKIA is desperate... moreYou couldn't be more right! If Nokia sinks like the Titanic, MS can still do business with Samsung, LG, Dell and many others... But if WP7 should tank, what's going to happen to Nokia?
You know, I've never been an Apple fan... but Apple has built its own devices with its own OS and has forced companies like Samsung, LG, SE, Nokia, Dell, HP and all the rest to use third party OS to try to catch up with it... Sure makes you think, doesn't it?

I hope this will act as a catalyst for them to make their OS and phone more exciting than current generation. PLUS more importantly, i hope they can encourage more developers to create fun Apps and Games for their OS and phones. However having said that, I am totally biased against Microsoft so officially, I am no longer interested in NOKIA phones with Windows 7 OS.

Nokia... you can go to the hell. Im not gonna buy a wp7 nokia, they just surrender, the Nokia image is hurt maybe for ever. I was waiting for the N9 with meego, waiting for almost a year, and now they say the primary os will be wp7, a piece of crap. Sorry nokia, i will not buy any phone from you until you have nuts again... ovi store merged with ms mmarketplace... is that a joke ?? ...
