There is an old saying in sales : " A satisfied customer may only tell a few people but you can be sure an UN-satisfied customer WILL tell MANY people.

BTW : Anyone out there know how to install Android on the N8 ?? Love the hardware but I don't have the time or the patience to fool around with work -a-rounds on a $ 500 + phone.

These are the Disadvantages of WP7 as given by GSMArena on their WP7 review:

        *No system-wide file manager
        *No videocalling
        Limited third-party apps availability
        *No Bluetooth file transfers
        *No USB mass storage mode
        *No multitasking
        *No copy/paste
Too dependent on Zune software for computer file management and syncing
        *No music player equalisers
*No Flash or Silverlight support in the web browser
*No sign of free Bing maps Navigation so far
        No DivX/XviD video support
        *No internet tethering support
*New ringtones available only through the Marketplace
*Swapping memory card requires hard reset; cards not readable by computer

Look back at the ones written after "*"s... wasn't these some of the strongest points Nokia and Symbian had over iOS and Android?? And now they are giving it all up.

        Very Disappointing move by Nokia

        - A former Hardcore Fan of Symbian....Guess its Android all the way now!

Nokia should have bought WebOS in the first place rather than waited years doing nothing to develop a better OS. Their aquisition of Palm would had been be a lot less than the billions of dollars spent in RD to develop Symbian, Meego and Qt. Nokia lost the battle in the smartphone segment by relying on Windows Phone 7. Give us Meego Nokia we waited long enough.

Bad move from Nokia. It would be better if they would join hands with Google's Android. Future is bleak for Nokia.

As a life long Nokia user and supporter, I can say with great pain that the Nokia E7 will be my last Nokia phone.
Funny how an ex Microsoft employee moves Nokia in the direction of Microsoft, whose phone platform is struggling more than Nokia is, "something is rotten in the state of....."

                              holy shit.

this changes everything. Just what Nokia needed - to make a big move. I'm no expert, but so far WP7 devices have looked like clones of one another and Nokia could bring in some variety, while using MS' new OS. Good to hear they're keeping their old systems alive, but this is a surprising new development.

Good luck Nokia, looking forward to some cool new developments!

I have always liked nokias and although I have thought of trying out an Ericsson or Apple, I preferred the nokia for various reasons (price being a very important one :-D) but I cant see myself buying a Nokia WP7 phone.

Looks like my next one will either be an Apple, HTC or Sony.
