Anonymous, 12 Feb 2011in my opITOIN symbian phones are good . me using nokIa 5800... moresound quality is from speaker, speaker is hardware.
camera came from sensor and lens, so it is hardware.
so symbian lover trying to defend it with hardware proof not OS side.
dont you ever ask nokia why they not put more ram and 1ghz CPU?
they will not tell you, but i think because symbian can't handle it.
so what symbian had better than iOS or android??

Sad. I know now that my N8 will be my last Nokia.
Can't be doing with boring business OS like Win-Dross. It's too lame anyway.
Still my contract runs for two years, by that time we'll have quad core mobiles, and maybe Android will be a viable OS

The lack of features in WP7 is made up with the UI.
Symbian would NEVER have had a good UI no matter how much work they did on it.
A good UI is more important than lack of multitasking, microSD, Bluetooth file transfer etc. iPhone proved this 4 and a half years ago. Nokia have realised this, even if too late. It's funny how Apple said that their UI was 5 years ahead of the competition when they announced iPhone 1. By the time Nokia releases a WP7 handset, they will be 5 years behind Apple hahahaha.

Open source Nokia supporters unite! It's time for Project Chemo (chemotherapy).
I am a proud Nokia N73 owner; PLEASE JOIN ME IN BOYCOTTING NOKIA until 1) Elop leaves Nokia and 2) Nokia drops their Phone 7 strategy.
Only an idiot more loyal to Microsoft than Nokia would publically kill Nokia's smartphone brands (Symbian and MeeGo) and pubcially take Nokia out of the game during this critical year by not having the product they've chosen to hype (Phone 7) nearly ready for sale and by pairing with the industry's ugly duckling (Phone 7) that's just a transitional product until Windows 8 arrives.
Maybe Nokia has not been that smart (going with Elop is proof), but they have good technology and Elop has already proven himself to be a total sellout idiot to Microsoft. He of all people should know that Phone 7 did a lousy job implementing an office productivity suite. More importantly, Microsoft's long term strategy is apparent--they will put Windows 8 on ARM tablets and for unity sake they will need to consolidate by putting Windows 8 on phones. Where does that leave Nokia? In a temporary marriage with Microsoft so Microsoft can save face until the real bride shows up.
The market has already made it's decision about Phone 7. It's a total flop. Per Ars Technica, every other major smartphone platform (Android, Nokia, Apple, RIM, Others) rose at least 30% in market share year over year in 4th Quarter 2010. Microsoft was the sole major loser with it's dumb smartphone debut, and lost 20% in market share year over year. http://arstechnica.com/gadgets/news/2011/01/android-beats-nokia-apple-rim-in-2010-but-firm-warns-about-2011.ars
Why would Nokia go with a smartphone that's years behind in technology and doesn't have it's own ecosystem that Elop desperatly ascribes to? Phone 7 doesn't even multi-task . . . it can take an inordinant amount of time revisit applications becasue it has to restart them everytime you switch back to them. Plus it won't do static IP addresses, it does DHCP only. The list goes on.
Since I'm not on Facebook or Twitter, feel free to post this everywhere possible!!

It is time for me to buy a new phone, I wanted E7 but after this betrayal by nokia I am done with them. And no they should not take android which is a tool for google to collect everyones personal data. Symbian & Meego & Qt was the only way forward, now they just killed themselves.

Anonymous, 12 Feb 2011why dont nokia just say tat they are quiting the race even ... moreIts market requirement. if nokia didn't that it might have lost more market shares. Nokia's Symbian is not for a Full touch mobiles. I accept its very powerful its not resource hungry, very optimised. But end user don't need these things they need only very attractable user interface with quick response.
Simple but very Attractive.

why dont nokia just say tat they are quiting the race even before they tried hard enough with meego before looking at another smartphone OS, symbian has been good enough to get nokia going for 10 years now i think but suddenly just after an ex microsoft employee joins nokia WP7 which is hardly a year old is good enough to replace symbian !!!!! hope Stepen .E burn in hell for the back stabbing of every loyal nokia and symbian consumer !!!!

I had hoped to see Nokia with Andriod, and not with microsoft. This is bad.
Would not opt to consider nokia phones as my next phone anymore. Andriod/iPhone/Blackberry would be far better than the WP7, and the nokia now.
