WP7 is a brand new platform from Microsoft and has been designed from the bottom up. Also it should not be confused with it's former windows mobile OS as it has nothing in common with it whatsoever! Atually what I have seen it appears a very clever and innovative OS.

      Check it out on youtube.

                    Most posts here are hysterical.
No one should should slag off an OS, unless they have at least s years day to day experience of it.

Symbian, Android, OS and Wp7 are all ok and can co-exist.

kamote, 12 Feb 2011symbian is good for non touch phone the reason why they dom... moreYeah, you may got it right.

Symbian is good, or I can say great mobile OS.
The problem with symbian is just the UI. Fix the UI then symbian back on track.

I prefer nokia buy SPB Shell license for pre-installed symbian rather than joining micro$h!T to hell.

I really don't see what all the fuss is about.

It's not as though they're abandoning symbian or meego. It just means they're adding a 3rd OS to their inventory.

Lots of other manufacturers do. HTC has Android & WP7 handsets, Samsung has Bada, Android & WP7 handsets, LG has Android & WP7 handsets etc etc.

You'll still have new symbian apps being developed & the OS will still get updates. All it means is that when you go to buy a phone you'll have an extra choice.. How is that a bad thing?

Who knows. Now that Nokia have finally decided to branch out & no longer stick with just meego & symbian phones, they may even decide to make an android phone or two...

                            Stop whining over nothing people!

Congrats Nokia for fair fight for such a long time!
                              Cant say im glad......
                              Or again, maybe i am?
Im using winmo6.5 for one year, bfore that i had symbian.
I have to admit, winmo is much serious OS.
But, bad thing is my winmo is in samsung device, and nokia devices is way better than samsung (not to mention nokia is my favourite...)
                              So, conclusion? Maybe Nokia+WinMo=success?
                              Winmo7 looks apsolutely fantastic!
So yes, i would like to have WinMo7 in Nokia!
                              Good decision Nokia,
                              Regards

symbian is good for non touch phone the reason why they dominates the mobile market long ago,but when apple started with touchphone symbian can't compete with apple then google enter the competition, winmo fall behind then symbian offers touchphone but consumers did'nt like it.the reason why nokia loses its markets share is the os they use for their phones not because they don't have good device,I am still using a symbian phone but thinking to shift to android just to try something new..symbian os is good but it needs a new look that nokia can't delivers........
