I believe Nokia would do much better if they incorporate Andriod. An Android phone with some Symbian features and functionality would be ideal. Certainly better than MeeGo, which is more a kin to Windows 7.

This Nokia Microsoft combination will work out greatly in India.
When Nokia in peak, they concentrated only big retailers, and sidelined the middle and lower retailers. Result- to switch the loyality to other brands, and open the flud gate to the dual sim market, Anroid,Bada and what not. "Nokia" correct now! Value your dealers, who are your direct face to the user. All the best for new winning combination.

Anonymous, 12 Feb 2011Yes, Android is great. Yes, iOS is awesome. Symbian suc... moretoday there are alot cheap and good android phone, like samsung galaxy 5 and x8 and android begining they invasion to low range.
if you think clearly and fair, the money you paid for symbian in your mobile phone cost higher more than the money you spend for putting android in you smartphone. and dont forget your symbian came with a big plus, plus lag, plus frezze, plus restart, plus cannot install more functionality from apps.

thats why SE and samsung gone to android,

and most of symbian lover still think that poor keypad OS more affordable than android...what a big lie.

thats why you have to research first and not quickly judge other people opinion, use it a week or two try everything different, symbian lover putting their head to long in a box of loyalty and can't hear about what is the true smartphone mean. you said iOS fans and android fans are sheep, but look at your self.
all symbian got is a mobile phone OS in mission to fool people not connecting people.
im glad nokia goes to WP, they now have real battle on smartphone world with a smartphone OS not trying to survive with poor keypad mobile phone OS.

why are you guys so negative on WP7? WP7 is only around 1 year old. all of its missing features, aren't they the same as ios when it first came out? do you expect your newly born child go to work as an adult? they need to grow up and learn and learn before they can do something. so do the WP7. they need time to update and improve their os.

Sorry for my bad english and thanks for reading my opinion.
Good luck all of you and nice weekend

Elop's move marks the end of14 years of my preference to Nokia and Symbian-starting with the Nokia 909 which I still keep as a souvenir. I was eagerly waiting for MeeGo, but my wishes are now shattered. I have made a decisiom my next phone will be an android driven Galaxy S.
I will however keep my eyes open for any good products from Nokia, but they have to be really good. Finally, I really pity the destruction of Finnish, and European innovation. Elop should be aware that Nokia and its innovation means more than just profits, but represents the symbol of Finnish and European innovation. Why isn't MeeGO a primary OS? Lets brace ourselves for very dirty fights.

Symbian sucks. But, like the rest of the World, I can only afford Symbian. So I'll just keep on using and supporting it.

Wow. I can't believe some people think this might work. Microsoft failed big time with Winmo 6.xx and now they just copied Apples iOS. Doesn't these limitations on Windows phone 7 remind you of how the Apple 3G used to be? Also Nokia can't make WP7 better. It can't even make Symbian better. Remember the saying "2 wrongs don't make a right"?
