What a shame, iPhone 7 which has ios "which is mush liter than android".. 720p display, 12mp camera... Is powered by the most powerful chipset between all smartphones from all brands, seriously, Qualcomm is sleeping.

Many apps are multi threaded. Most Games need 4+ Cores, Samsung and Chrome Browser
5-6 threads, Playstore 10-12 threds etc.

Anonymous, 07 Feb 2017Nope, A10 Fusion will still be fasterFaster on this worthless benchmark but slower on any side-by-side realworld comparison except cherry-picked games LoL.

So the less important multi core is a bit better and the more important single core is almost doubled, which seriously should ring the alarm in your head

Your second point is work for gamer brain (only).
Your third point:350 still great achievement. 10nm will give better battery efficiency (in flagship class) when no new tech implement yet in battery sell.
Your last point: marketing is important coz they are seller. One of the purpose of launching new product is to get profit and they do to get it as much as possible with marketing, campaign or whatever. Added 4 more cores:they should do it last year in 821 before Kirin and Exynos kick their 820 in many test.

                          1. The Geekbench 4 is inaccurete and useless benchmark. Geekbench 3 is the real and true benchmark.

                          2. Who cares about multi-core socre? Single-core score is the most important. Most games and apps are single threaded.

                          3. So according to these tests, the Snapdragon 835 has only 350 score real improvement over the Snapdragon 820 (2004 vs about 1646). So the 10nm gives only 350 score real improvement compared to 14nm. That's nothing.

                          4. The only purpose of Snapdragon 835 is marketing. Qualcomm added 4 more cores just to get higher multi-core score in the article headlines.

Sathish, 07 Feb 2017But A10 has only Dual cores!! (for apps). still 5k plus is ... moreThat's because with A10, GB gives more weight on tests that don't translate to real-world.

Adding more cores is much more efficient than making them super complex and this is big little so at performance only the 4 big cores are evaluated. Likely that both apple and qualcomm use same ammount of power but the latter with higher performance. The only problem with more but weaker cores is that if an app is single threaded and heavy on processing it will be slower like high fps hi res video recording

In this case, GB is unable to fully utilize the SoC. Try Cinebench or Wprime and see how the score scales linearly with number of cores.

For an octacore SoC ... moreActually it shows perfectly how non linear is the performance advantage of just adding cores (which also means that it is always better to improve core performance than merely adding more cores).

Also it's only slightly faster than last year's Kirin and Exynos.

There was a time (up until last year in fact) that SoCs used to get 30-40% performance advancement yearly. This one gets less than that...

I admit it's quite faster than SD820 though, but SD820 was not exactly a powerhouse (exynos 8890 was 30% faster)
