Its funny how some claim the lack of functionality involved with WP7 and hate MS with a passion because of it. They just want want, want, and want. To them, its ok to wait for Android updates or apple updates but cant wait for wp7's. And hear I'm hearing anger regarding some google phones not gettin certain updates or slow updates yet thats ok. Apple puts up updates once or twice a year and thats ok. But its not ok for wp7 to come and not have updates a month later. People, MS needs time to review user comments and suggestions so they can intigrate the functionality requested by the users. Besideds, its business. Can't role out everything all at once. Then your product will lack innovation and peoples lose interest. So please STFU and rest in piece with your android, or ios, or failed meego, or old style symbian.

Even Symbian could have bee... moreI think he announced the partnership months early and with no hardware ready so that Nokia's stocks will get cheaper and cheaper and then Microsoft will buy Nokia for cheap. I hope I'm wrong but I just don't trust Elop and whatever comes out of his mouth.

Nokia is definitely going to become a subsidiary of Microsoft after using WP7 and Elop is definitely a Microsoft agent!

Don't forget that many options like copy, paste, custom wallper and ringtone were not available in the first iPhone. Also, iPhone still doesn't have real multitasking but that doesn't really keep it behind the rest.

So WF7 is like a newborn, I expect to see many updates and upgrades, including the implementation of Nokia services in WF7 this year.

Time will tell if this was the correct decision.

I played around with WF7 and I think it really has a lot of potential.

And adding the quality of Nokia's hardware, I would say a lot of people will welcome the new devices once they arrive.

Nokia-phones with WP7 in 2012!? Even Symbian could have been improved to be better than WP7 hopefylly will be in another years time. Copy-paste coming to Windows Phone 7 NEXT month, not today or yesterday, then maybe WP7 by the end of 2011 will be able to do all that Symbian have been able to do for years?
Nokia is completelty totally stupid to start using WP7 on their phones. There must have been something "illegal" going on with this deal because Nokia will lose big on the deal with Microsoft, CEO Stephen Elop must clearly be an undercover agent for Microsoft with the hidden mission to force Nokia to abandon their competing os MeeGo in a classic Microsoft Maffia-like takeover of the company Nokia.

I only have one question: what can WP7 do that Symbian can't?

Even my E5 (maybe my last Nokia, and when I think I hesitated with HTC Wildfire, Sony Ericsson X8 and Hazel, I can be quite disgusted) can do this, among other things.

Now, I just hope they would be able to implement the same features as Symbian has, + the ability to connect to any Gnu Linux computer without problem. Otherwise... Android, here I am!

i can put ubuntu on my hd2 and will have more features than any of these smartphones will have in the next 10 years. but do i want to? no. features don't sell phones. well-done user experiences do. that's what it is about. not everybody is a geek and wants a command prompt.
