in comparison to android and iphone os' it took a lot longer for them to receive these features. also even longer for iOS to get multitasking(obviously android has had multitasking for a while).
At least microsoft is on top of things and constantly improving their operating system.
you have to see their perspective:
you have a product and it is almost ready to be released. Only there is one tiny little feature that you would like it to have. It will take some time to polish off and test this feature but you want your product on the market so it can have recognition and make sales. you also do not know if consumers will like or dislike your product. So you either wait until it reaches your exact expectations and fall further behind your competitors or you release it in current operational form.
i would most likely release my product, see how it goes and make up for short comings later.
i do not see how anyone can blame them for improving user experience.

It looks like Microsoft thinks that it can imitate Apple: wait for the product to be around for a while and then announce a new feature that is only new to the product, not the market. Apple does this all the time (e.g. the iPhone 4 has the best camera on an iPhone yet, well after the best camera phones have big sensors and 12MP). Well, that strategy works for Apple because on its core strength (that will be usability) the iPhone is still market leader even though everyone else has held many many many more iterations to catch up (e.g. Samsung matches iPhone model releases about 10 to 1 but the iPhone still kills Samsung for responsiveness etc). So, Microsoft runs the risk of missing the boat by tinkering around with late to market basic features. For those of us who really like Nokia products, we can only hope that the partnership with Microsoft will not see the end of all the things we like (cool hardware, best connectivity, best imaging, best FM transmitters) while Microsoft re-invents the wheel. When the iPhone was released, feature for feature Windows Mobile killed it. But, unsurprisingly, users were captivated by the usability of the iPhone. Who knows why Microsoft, given the years head start that Windows Mobile had on iOS, had not already made the interface thumbable (big gui controls, who knew that would work?). Now Microsoft has ditched virtually all the features of WM6.5 including the system wide clipboard and now we have to wait while they work their way up from nothing again. I hope they can do it before Apple comes up with their next major innovation, maybe we will get thought controlled phones from Apple. Your bluetooth will not work anymore but you can have your music beamed right into your frontal lobe instead. Never mind, Microsoft will have its app store really working by then and we can have 3D Angry Chickens (with smell). And it will be while before Microsoft can annnounce a feature as "the first Windows phone with feature X" because they have a long list of old Windows Mobile 6.5 features to add back in first.

Why don't MS use Windows 2000+multitouch for WP7? It has copy-paste, multitasking and it ran very well in 256MB RAM and 500 MHz processor.

I personally dont believe a phone can really do copy and paste. Sounds a bit like a sci-fi movie. if microsoft can really intergtate that phone on a phone, I.am switching to winmo.

lubbalots, 15 Feb 2011Its funny how some claim the lack of functionality involved... moreWhen a major big update, new "innovation", only give simple old things like "copy-paste" then WP7 only show have very bad it still really is compared to any other os! I can not understand how WP7 already can have fanatic blind fans.
