Watch the Nokia N8 and iPhone 4 get test tortured to death

18 February, 2011
When we buy a new phone we are always concerned if its body is scratch-resistant or will it get dirty quickly. This is essential information because when the time comes to sell it, the better it looks the higher price...

that's a bit unexpected - N8 looks and feels tougher in my hand and even though it's hardly a significant scientific test (statistically speaking) I'm surprised the iP4 did so well.

Nice one, Apple. Great design once again!

Unlike the I phone and drouds which phase out in a year and half, nokias have a much longer life cycle. Refurbished nokia n70s, a 2003 model are still being sold. The nokia 5800 is still a hot product in parts of africa. The n8 hasn't reached half of its total sales.

Incredible ! In the tile drop test, the N8 was always dropped in the "standing" position, in which i believe the pressure to crack the whole device is bigger.
The Iphone was dropped in some cases, horizontally in which i believe the pressure is much smaller. Scientific ? Equal ? Nahhhhhh

[deleted post]"that piece of crap is solded 11 millions "

N8 sold 11 millions? WOW that's HUGE, too bad it's not true, not even close.

I'm from Finland, for sure if that's true i would have heard that everywhere in here. What i'v heard the real numbers are less than half of that. And the "huge" sold has been already, every true nokiafans have got their N8.

I'm neither an apple fan boy nor hater.
No one can make me beliave this comparison videos.
while every i phone 4 user blaming the phone about the signal strenght and the quickly broken display how can the test show totally opposite.

Also Nokia is well known with its hardware quality.
                      No dubt.

So those 2 videos are senseless to me.

I swear this is so unfair to Nokia. this test is too fake because when my N8 dropped , nothing happened to it only got scratched on the body but when my friends iPhone 4 dropped THE SCREEN BROKE ! So this test is fake and i have proven it from normal life experience , why does everyone hate nokia so much :(

The test is unfair . A friend of mine dropped his iphone 4 once and the screen was slightly broken but he didn't notice and today when he pulled off the sheets out of the bed his phone fell on the floor and the screen was totally broken . I believe i phone 4 is among the best phones available in the market but the video is misleading and it an attempt to advertise apples phone

these videos dont even tell you anything.. they didnt even show the after scratch test of the iphone, only the n8, and they wrote at the bottom of the video "the phone wouldnt turn on we had to get a new one".. too many cut scenes too.. and i like how the iphone got replaced with a new one after the scratch test..

Seriously.. Drop a Iphone 4 onces and you'll have to go back to the shop because the screen is broken... Yes it still works in most of the times, but it isnt a prety nor fine way to use it. Wonder why no pictures are shown of it on the test..

My Nokia X6 got ran over by a payloader and it still works! Now the payloader's owners are suing me why the payloader got a chink. Now that's toughness.
