Yeah, that video is garbage. The iphone glass shatters when its dropped and hits at the corners. I've had so many friends that that's happened to. Here's a video of a guy dropping the iphone. 4th time, glass shattered.

I have no idea if the N8 is more durable because I don't know anyone who has one haha but the iphone getting a high score is bogus.

If you own either of these 2 devices...would you put it on torture test just to say that yours is unbreakable? Of course NOT.

GSMarena should include these kinds of stress tests in their reviews. For the most part, GSMarena is pretty unbiased and so implementing these tests into their reviews would further reveal the quality-build of any phone under review.

Also, if GSMarena applied these tests to their reviews, please make sure that its the exact same tests in the exact same order that they are performed for each phone.

That looks so fake, the iPhone 4 is the easiest phone to break because of its glass body.

Guys THIS IS NOT nokia vs iPhone WAR. The test is same for every phones which including many other phones too, if you fail then you fail. Example SE vivaz also got broken during test so it didnt get that much score.

And this is score for desire "the HTC Desire gets 466 points from possible 783" desire glass got broken in carpet drop test, that's not good.

The point is iPhone surprisingly survived all these tests and didn't broke during test.

indeed that is fake. i didn't see n8 not to work after all those tests. i didn't see iphone after scratch test. i didn't see water drops on iphone when tested after the beer-water like those on n8. i didn't see how the stars were vanished for n8 and iphone not. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOT

Really unfair tests..they still gave 3 stars for the iphone that has like beer stains in the screen..compared to the N8 with no stars rating at all.. that malfunctioned a bit on call screen but doesn't have any stains in it and survived the beer and water tests..I still go with N8..iphone4g with 5MP no flash and restricted bluetooth operations, apps and no so user friendly interface..

Nokia N8 has won. How can the iPhone win with 94 as compared to 50 for the N8?

Not possible, Judging by the pictures it seems the N8 wins.

AnonD-1825, 19 Feb 2011I'm VERY surprised about the result's too. Didn't expect iP... moreIf you go to the website, you will find that the test is unfair. The N8 broke during one test where it was submersed in a fluid. Then in all subsequent tests (unrelated to the test that broke the phone in the first place) the N8 was given a 0. For instance the dust test resulted in the N8 receiving a 0 because it no longer worked. It no longer worked because it was broken even before the dust test began.

GadgetStress.com used a very flawed methodology to in a number of tests and the results are very questionable. I would suggest you go to their web site and see for yourself. I did because I was wondering why the N8 was beaten by such a wide margin. Based on what I have seen, I would not trust the scoring methodology they used.

I have owned a Nokia N95 8GB for 3 years now and I was shocked when I read about the durability of the N8. My phone (Not exaggerating at all) has withstood:

                                      - Drop down 4 floors hitting marble stairs on the way down and hitting the bottom floor (which is also marble)
                                      - Drop into a bucket of water with Pin-Sol (floor cleaner)
                                      - Thrown out of a moving vehicle (~50 km/h)(sister was angry!)
                                      - Drop once again down 2 floors of carpeted stairs

The phone still works perfectly. Looks like nothing happened to it except for a small scratch in the plastic beside the screen. Also the battery can still go 3 days on moderate usage with bluetooth constantly on and internet used daily.

I hope Nokia gets their act back in gear and continues to make reliable phones.
