.....first of all this test is fake
and secondly price of iphn4 32gb is twice than tht of n8 in india and 16gb is more than 1.5 times........thats y i hate apple........they make pricey unaffordable phones which are not of gud quality like the affordable trusty nokia

Sorry I use apple for the whole life but this seems a bit biased,where are the ip4 results as they keep showing the results in N8(not the score,what happen to the phon?) I have both phones and I know whatI have. N8 is my first phone of Nokia,cos in construction yard,I used to drop things cos I need to rush the workers,but ip4 dropped from like 2 feet above from the concrete floor,it cracked(No bumper around),I have dropped N8 too,no scratch,no restart @_@ but they manage to derive that glass is more durable than aluminium. I am totally amazed,I wish I'd have been there to see are all these real or just another make-up stress tests :( cos I am really sick of the glass body dang....

There it shows the iPhone 4 after the test and it is also scratched up. I cannot see why they gave the iPhone 4, 3 stars while they give the N8 0 stars. Both seem scratched just as much in the photos.

The N8 performed better in many of the tests but got a worse score? What a biased joke.
E.G. The iPhone cover cracked in the fall tests but got a better score than the N8 which did not get any damage. Both phones got damaged in the tumble test but the iPhone got full score... and it goes on for every test.

The N8 looks like the phone who could endure the beating. The iphone4 looks so beautiful and fragile, but surprisingly sturdy. I was cringing when the iphone4 was put the test. It's a device that you don't want to abuse. I didn't feel the same for the N8 :)

Im a big apple fan but even I can see that these tests werent fair. They never showed the iphone up close so we could inspect the damage. The iphone was overrated throughout the test.

Yup.. Agree with most of those who think that this is BS Test.. Nokia has always been recognised and considered as the best phone in terms of durability and resistance against heat, water or being dropped. Millions of subscribers all across the globe are not stupid that thery are carrying something that fits their needs no matter how they want to use this communication tools rather than a piece of cheap glass which needs to be replaced or to buy a guarntee from any other company. I personally dont want to keep my phone in covers or dont wanna pay for extra accessories for the screen protection. I want everything on one gadget for which I would love to pay thats why I choose Nokia..

i am currently using a blackberry and trust me its a ROBUST phone.....it fell many times i had my phone dropped in pool but its still wrking...
one thing i want to highlight is abt apple products
apple products are very expencive
but they use quality stuff thet do not compromise on anything
everything is made using high quality products
nokia are good but the buildup of the phone is not as quality standard as just compared the metal quality of iphone4 and nokia n8 and i am sure ull be surprised
we have ppl who are ready to pay more if they the manufacture uses best rawmaterials for the final product
apple wants to maintain their standards as they want their products only to be used by premium users
where nokia and other companies wants their products to be used by premium medium and low customers aswell
hence plastic parts comes in picture...
all i believe in best its ok to spend more to have the best

Off course there's gonna be freak accidents just like in real life, I've fallen down the stairs at my parents house got up without hurting myself, my brother fell once and broke both his arms.
The Iphone did prove more durable in the end anyway.

people out here always said that their friend's iPhone or their friend's n8 is the winner or loser..LOL 5110 is the winner i guarantee you guys! maybe they should put it in a test versus all the smartphone!! peace!

Has anyone else noticed how when they test the Nokia phone for scratches in that jar they don't show the results like they did for the Nokia N8? Or how when the phone is dipped in water, they don't press the numbers afterwards, instead they do it before???
I personally think that this is a biased test.

The test was about the durability not scratchesness.
A simple fall with iphone will end up with a cracked front screen [changed two for my friend, she has the N8 now which she dropped face first and was left with a small mark on the frame] unlike the N8 as mentioned before...

AnonD-2117, 21 Feb 2011what the......??? n8 shud have won this one i really dunn... moreHow do you extremely intelligent people fail to understand, that the Iphone 4 is made with toughened glass which does not scratch that easily N8 is made from aluminium, which is coated in paint and naturally after a test like that paint will scratch more than glass. If you own the N8 and really want to prove this take a 9" nail push it hard against the N8 body and run it along from top to bottom and then do the same on the screen and I guarantee you that you will not scratch the screen but will scratch the body. Off course N8 chassis will be tougher but the Iphone 4 does come into it's own too. The tests are exactly the same for all phones tested Iphone 4 won simply because it did not drown, N8 drowned.

I have a X6 and I swear I have dropped it over 20s on concrete, went in 4-5 pieces, put it back together and works and still does work like a charm. Have killed it to my friend few times and still works.
Nokia's build quality is the best, but symbian 5th edition was just craaaaaap!!!!
Waiting for my pay this thursday to get the N8. Been waiting for a while...
