On topic: This test is ovbiously bias. N8 isn't a perfect phone but the build quality is the best in the industry. IP4 is very good also don't get me wrong, but N8 really is better.

nokia phones are obviously more durable than other
i hav used n73 and 5233touch and i dropped them almost everyday but they always started back........!!!

bias much.....
i dropped my N8 on concrete and it only got slightly dented....i put mine in the freezer for a few hours and it came out fine ......this stress test is a joke...glass vs aluminium and cheap glass won .......LOOL

estimated --> not a census genius. 3.8Billion in developing countries such as India/China, however these numbers are totally different from actual census taken.

My link suggest 4% of iphone 4 breaks their screens WITHIN first 4 months of ownership. Your link suggest that Mobile networks are accessible to 90% of the world's population. Last time i checked something available does not mean something is being used. So uhh once again please show me how my views are "skewed" in anyway?

This test is not fair because the iphone in some test don't see the truth and jump parts of the video, the n8 es much efficient like probe in others RIGHT test and continuos videos.... The people that do this test obviously is iphone fans, and for me this test don't have value....

It's an Apple thing, really - Macolytes have been fanatically defending their platform since day one. Which was quaint and understandable when Apple really was the underdog - but now they are leading the smartphone industry which makes all the passion a bit redundant, really.
In fact, it's actually now counter-productive as Apple knows that anything it does will be treated like the Second Coming by its legions of fans. This means they can release iDevices without key features that power-users find absolutely essential and still make a ton of profit thanks to their excellent design and marketing. Leading in this way lowers the benchmark for features and capabilities, to the deteriment of the industry (IMHO).

One thing I do have to contgratulate Apple on is creating an emotional connection between people and their tech. Geeks like us have always had this feeling, but Apple has somehow brought it to the masses with each iDevice.
I think that it is mainly this emotional connection that makes people want to care for their iDevices by smothering them in cases and treating them like gold, rather than just treating their phone as a communication tool as they may have before.

I dobt carry cases or screen protector for any of my phones: the motoroka defy, hd2, and tmobile g2. However my little brother does for his g2 does that make the phone more likely to break? No. I also attend a university, most students here have cases for their macbook pro, my asus laptop cost more than the entry level macbook pro i dont have a case on my laptop. Does that make the macbook pro more prone to damage or that these other students feel their macbooks are likely to scratch/break? Not at all. The reason why most users put cases on their phones/laptops is because they are very attached to these devices because normally these people can not afford to replace the devices every other year and want to keep their devices jn pristibe condition.

looking around the bus here on my way to work, I see many people on their phones - Nokia, Samsung, SE, iPhone. Of all of them only the iPhone users have their phones in cases. In fact, every single iPhone user on this bus (and it's not just iP4) has their phone in a case, while nobody else does.
Cases for other phones aren't hard to get and many of these phones are ator above iP4's pricepoint. Regardless of any testing, people clearly feel they need to protect their iPhone but don't feel this need for other handsets.

So basically almost every 5 year old china and India uses a cell phone? Stupid much? Wouldn't those who own an iphone 4 have apple care insurance? Why would they go to your cousin to get something repaired when its covered by Apple Care insurance? Funny how I hear all these made up stories like how someone knows a "friend" who has had 2 Iphone 4 and dropped both and had to buy a third while their N8 dropped and nothing happened. Their friend is pretty stupid then, if I dropped a $500+ phone and needed to buy another $500+ USD phone out of pocket, i'd get insurance on my phone. You kids like to make up all these stories about how you "know" someone, when in reality you don't know anyone and just using that oh so cliched scenario to help justify your claims. Truth of the matter is only 3.9% of iphone 4 owners break their glass screens in the first 4 months of ownership. 3.9% of 30.3 Million is not so bad of a figure when you consider its an item made of glass that you are constantly handling so chances of drop is higher than normal.

[deleted post]And?????? To me Gadget stress test proves that this video is flawed coz they keep dropping it until it breaks. Only they and God probably know how many times it was dropped until it broke. Have you all never heard of editing.
All phones are breakable including the Nokia N8 if you keep dropping it eventually will break. I am no Iphone fan boy nor do I use the Iphone, but all my friends use it, we all young single and free out every weekend pissed our phones drop all the time but non of em have ever had a broken Iphone.

Is it just me or did they realy ignore all the malfunctions and scratches on the iphone while beating the crap out of nokia for them? During the fall test the text says that the steel band got some cracks, but it still gets max starts, during the test with the keys, the text says that the plastic got damaged, but still max stars, during heat test it overheated and the text says that the screen malfunctioned, but still max stars...

I don't know why this happen..I know Nokia is far better in hardware..Yeah in software we can say that iPhone is the winner..I don't like this test either..I'm not a Nokia fan or an Apple Fanboy..I'm just curious and wants to see the real result..I'm not saying that Nokia is the winner here but maybe they should treat each phone right..Nokia got 0 in most of the test because it was already broken in the first tests..I can say that iPhone has its own strength but I can't believed that in this video Nokia is not durable!?I don't get it..
