Oh my god!!! What wrong with Nokia designers?!! I'm sick of Nokia design. Just look at 6290 - excellent features, but looks like a glossy soap-box.

I'm sick and tired of hearing people complaining that Nokia new phones are ugly. What most people don't know is that Nokia caters to different type of people with their various series.
The 1xxx & 2xxx are the basic series and doesn't focus on features. They are just phones for people who want to make calls and receive calls.
On the other hand the 6xxx focuses on features because they are mainly targeted at the business crowd. The looks may not be all that...maybe so because as a source said "business people doesn't have the time for fashion". Maybe Nokia sees it that way and mostly focus on features.
FASHION comes with the 7xxx & 8xxx series, the only problem is that they are on the expensive side.
All in all Nokia has it all for all walks of life so some of you need to do your research and learn how Nokia go about their series and which series caters to which people.

WTF is up with nokia latley there handsets have great functions but they look like crap! I think Nokia need some new designers phones like this arent bought because of the looks i would go for a nicer looking phone anyday.

one phone has UMA etc but no 3G , other has something in and something out. some has 16m screen but some features absent. SONY phones are now supporting 4GB external memory. it would be wiser to see how much memory they support. Let’s compare:-
-> 2626 is a dual band phone, CSTN display, No BLUETOOTH, No Infrared, No Card slot, 2MB Memory, GPRS Class 6 ( currently all SONY phone has class 10 GPRS.
-> 6300 supports only microSD, 7MB internal memory, Talk Time 3 hours, it's worth noting that Nokia's best phone which has 2 MP camera has failed to be at par with Sony's Camera. Don’t believe ? Read GSM Arena's K750i Homepage. We shouldn't forget that SONY is a worldwide leader in cameras like CYBERSHOT and Alpha.
-> 6086 CSTN display , Wi-Fi but no infrared and 3G, USB version 1.1 which is old, 5 hours talk time
-> 6290 Costly but no Wi-Fi which 6086 has. Again it’s not a complete phone.
So! I think they are made for the fools who do not pay attention and runs after the name of Nokia.

Whatever but phones are still not beautiful. One phone looks like Nokia 3230. all looks like their prev. models with some tech. enhancements. That's it.

For some reason, When I look at the nokia 6290 I am immediately reminded of the LG 880 and 890. Have nokia been sneeking peeks at LG designs? Generally ugly little bugger.

they are all good looking phones but the 6086 has wi-fi which the 6290 doesn't. i think that should have been the other way round. 6086 now has UMA. Common! the other 2 are simply okay. nothing extra special.

Dudz SE k750 and 6300 don't compare. OK they both have a 2 mpix camera, but other than that they are different. K750 has that kludgy joystick. 6300 has QVGA display ships with a 128MB card and is 50% smaller (calculated cc comparison).

If only Nokia use Symbian and S60v3 on the model 6300 (Is it going to be 63xxi).
Maybe Nokia is trying to make people buy new phone everyyear.
It is very unfortunate that most people is used to Nokia user interface/menu structure.
Sony Ericsson and Samsung is today and future technology leader.

6300 needs a flash dammit! Besides that its a really nice phone. 6290 looks good too, but in my country there is no videocall feature.

As the years goes by i notice Nokia is the best selling phones ever ....& the ones i had back then like one year are 2 seems to be very long lasting for me ....& they went through a lot of falls ......im now waiting of the Nokia 6290 to come avaible so i can buy it ... i love Nokia phones to the bone .....peace to the people who love Nokia phones .......... ONE TO NOKIA BRAND

Nokia is producing great phones.. display itself is just wonderful. Nevertheless the features are best i can say among many other models. Compared to SE, it is better in terms of features, display and quality. Continue the good job nokia!

If mobile phones were people:
Nokia would be executive and professional people: smart, ellegant and reliable.
Samsung would be movie stars: not too smart but glamorous and sleek.
Motorolas would be young singers: fashionable and stylish.
Sony Ericssons would be transexuals: loud, annoying and they like to get attention from anyone.

What a loser... please read and inform yourself in order to post that kind of opinion. Nokia is the 6th best company in the world, even better than the stand alone Sony. Be real man and dont look like a stupid SE fanboy...

Nokia, has lost it already. The company can feel the ground shaking under them as they are losing control of the market. They seem to be losing a major part of the market share to SE. The simple strategy use by SE, was use tried and tested technology, keep things simple.
The 6300 is a rip off SE's K800. Nokia know that their 3.2 MP cam featured in the N93 couldn't match up to the K800, even though they used Carl Zeiss. The next best thing they did was to take a step back to 2 MP Cam. The only area where the 6300 excels is the colour, 16 Million comepared to K800's 262K.
The 6290 is a take on SE's Z530/W710, with the coloru screen idea taken from the Z520. Again the difference here is the screen colour 16 Million compared to SE's 262K.
Nokia, needs to remember one thing. While it may be the most popular mobile phone company in the world, when it comes to added benefits, like Music Player, and Camera, they would have to try really hard, to best the likes of SE or Samsung. Using of Carl Zeiss, wouldn't help, much.
Word of advise to Nokia.... be original!

N75 and 6290 are totally 2 different models, though specs are similar. Both models are gonna make it in the international market, not jz the American.
