AJ_74, 26 Feb 2017Seriously now. You can't tell me this guy (CEO John S. Chen... moreIt's in business, because blackberry has not that much to do with this phone and is providing a lot of stuff which the company needs that built your phone (hint: e.g. qnx)
BTW if I could have with my company 0.05% marketshare in my sector I would be super happy, but I do only have about 0.001. But it's okay. Like blackberry is also doing OK. Blackberry didn't lose money in 2016. And forecasts to earn money again in 2017 ... and just remember Porsche, Audi or Apple. They all were down once ;)

Spec is excellent with SD625 one of the power efficienct chip and for a mobile like BB it's more than enough for day today activities and multitasking. I hope nobody going to play graphic intensive games in this handset and price also looks ok for the hardware they are offering. Don't compare the price with simply assembled named different Chinese mobiles.
If price is a bit lower, more people will get this mobile. Anyway cool qwerty mobile with Android. Welcome baby...

Terrible value for the money.
Market decided long ago it didn't want physical QWERTY.
Now this is the 4th year running that Chen is trying to push QWERTY phones.
Some people just never learn.

The announcement of this device made me have great expectations from it.
Keyboard and Android, which is nomore available.with BBOS nearly dead, I was hoping to replace my 2013 BB Q5.
But with mid range SoC SD 625 and high price tag ( compared to SoC) i may think twice. If it had been SD 820+, I would have paid this amount without a word.
No doubt 625 is a great package, but the asking price is too high. Moto G 5+ will have same SoC at 1/3 the price. Only security and keyboard ( of course there are other factors too, but I am only considering these prima facia features till i get hands on experience). As far as security is concerned, even today BBM is one I trust on Android phone.
In the end, for my personal use I may continue using Q5 and then switch over to iPhone by end of the year.

Seriously now. You can't tell me this guy (CEO John S. Chen) isn't short-selling a butt-load of stock while he purposely tries to bankrupt the company. I mean, he couldn't be this inept, could he? Could anyone?
The phone honestly looks like an April Fools joke. And the name... from Blackberry Mercury to... Blackberry KEYone? HUUUHHH??? It might actually be the worst smartphone name ever, which is saying a lot because, hellooo... CHINA? LOL!
And wait... wasn't it just announced that Blackberry's effective market-share is now 0.0%? As a matter of fact, it was. Blackberry's 4th-quarter 2016 market share was exactly 0.0482%. HOW IS THIS COMPANY STILL IN BUSINESS???

Another BB phone that will show poor sales due to having a high price for average specs. AND then you have the physical keyboard. Are you kidding Blackberry? You've been trying to revive the QWERTY market for FOUR YEARS now. FOUR YEARS! John Chen - You are completely clueless about the market.

I honestly think that physical keyboards are pointless these days. We can integrated the same function on the screen. Even better we can have full customization, swipe typing, and the best of all: a bigger screen.

Anonymous, 26 Feb 2017Haha, last year they were 0%, ZERO ... what's left to say? ... moreVery childish comment. I bet you are immature. Is there any benefit to you that BlackBerry dies?
For me the more competitors, the merrier. The better for consumers. Let them innovate moron.

I'm actually impressed by this phone. Although the pricing is quite high, I think the sensor-equipped keyboard justifies that. But it's still expensive, LOL.

Sometimes less is more... such would have been the case with a smaller landscape display. Ahh well.. hopefully Nokia bounce back and do the QWERTY proper justice.

Everyone complaining about KeyOne as a name when we have such beauties like "Mi" and "Oppo" which sound like an indie hipster cartoonists recently leaked trademarks.

paintbuckets, 25 Feb 2017Seriously? Who the hell is in charge for naming the devices... more"Seriously? Who the hell is in charge for naming the devices? "
The Communist Chinese are naming (and making) the devices. They are then directly translating the names into English. Poor decision. Argon sounded cooler than DTEK, Vienna was cooler than Priv, Mercury was cooler than KEYone.

It should be very good at gaming as we have seen Snapdragon 625 is good for handling games in full HD resolution as in Redmi note 4 and this is even way less than HD resolution so practically adreno 506(130gflops) on 640×640 resolution should perform better than adreno 430(408gflops) on QHD resolution like in Xperia Z5 plus the battery life should be very good given the Low resolution 4.5inch screen and a 14nm chipset so 3500 mAh battery should last very long . So finally there is gone be a good phone for gaming with buttoand not a touchscreen . Some might complain about the small screen but it's still bigger than a PSP ! What are your thoughts guys !
