why did they downgrade the battery from 3050 mah in mi 4c to 2850 mah in 5c,
and also with 28nm process SoC and with 1080p screen, the phone will definitly drain a hell lot of battery :(
And i dont think the gaming performance will be as good as the 4c
its a new chipset tho,so lets wait and see how it works!

For those complaining about 28nm, the latest Snapdragon 65x SoCs are also still on 28nm. It's tried and true and give better yield.
Just because it's bigger (28nm), doesn't mean it's worse. Look at Apple's A9. TSMC version is bigger (16mm) than Samsung's (14nm), yet the TSMC version gives better battery life and performance.

AnonD-451592, 28 Feb 2017So they think that this crap is better than the s808 ? I'm ... moreMaybe they don't want to be dependent on Qualcomn. Apple and Samsung are also making their own SoCs, giving them better control and integration between the OS and hardware.

This is Xiaomi's first publicly revealed custom SoC. The first Ax and Exynos are not that great either. Give them some time to develop it. I'm bullish on Xiaomi's direction.

So they think that this crap is better than the s808 ? I'm using xiaomi mi4c which was best deal I've got on a phone. 150 USD on a flasgship featured phone. Why didn't they used a newer s650 at least ?

AnonD-49170, 28 Feb 2017Rebranded sad mediatek. This chipset is actually much more sophisticated den mediatek.

-Disappointing battery size (the mi5 is almost of the same size yet it comes with a 3000mAh battery. If oneplus can fit a 3400 mah battery into a 3000 shell you could atleast keep the 3000)
-Quite a derivative design (Not exactly a bad thing but not a good one either)
-Crazy pricing (1499 RMB when regular Mi5 is available at 1599 RMB)
-Untested SOC (who knows if it's any good compared to the big dogs)

Now just gotta wait for some reviews to see if it's worth a buy..........

After so much build up they finally gave 2 year old chipset specs... 28 nm!!!!! Wth? Everyone is on 10 nm already.... This surge is good for only Redmi series. Not to flagship Mi series....

Crappy chipset, why on earth 28nm lithography? It should be at least 20nm.

So... Pretty much the equivalent of Helio P1x and Kirin 6xx series. This kind of procs should go to Redmi line instead of Mi. Mi series should be use the higher tier (the one equivalent to P2x and Kirin 9xx). Just saying.... :3

Crap chipset. 28nm, 2.2ghz. Overheat. Inefficient.
