I am glad to hear this. I am planning to buy MacBook eventually which have USB Type C ports. I have Pixel XL and iPhone 7 plus so in future can use same cable for everything. This also means next iPhone might use power delivery for charging

Firstly, kinda embarrassing if you ask me. No hope for them doing a turn around on their 3.5mm jack I suppose.
Secondly, if that becomes the case, it's kind of a slap to all their current customers who have already invested in Lightning dongles, accessories and connectors.

This sounds very plausable, USB type C offers same pros what lightning have offered years
If this going to happen it will help lot of Android oems to ditch 3.5mm headphone jack.

I would laugh really hard if they did this, also what about the people who just had to buy lighting earphones and headphones?

If Apple actually does adopt Type-C AND makes it such that the phone can be charged with any regular Type-C charger like Android devices, I might actually start to like them :).
Jokes aside I really hope Apple starts to use Type-C because then it'll be good news for Android users too. Why? Because given the trend of Chinese OEMs (who control a major share of the market) following whatever Apple does and given the brand's huge popularity, microUSB will (hopefully) be phased out just so that OEMs can keep up to the standard set by Apple.
