Because HTC Desire is the same device as Google Nexus One, it should get all the same Android updates as Nexus One. There is no question about this. It if gets less, then shame on HTC.

HTC always had great support. I wasn't worried about Gingerbread, because even if HTC wouldn't bless our Desires with Gingerbread, the geniuses at xda would do that anyway, just like now that I'm running a fully working Desire HD ROM on my Desire!

I switched from the miserable and hopeless Motorola Milestone XT720 to a HTC Desire just 1 month ago, and boy! I've never regretted making this switch! With such world class support to it's product range, HTC will definitely become the leader in this highly compatitive smart phone industry. 2 thumbs up for you, HTC!

Well now dose this mean I'll be left out because I technically have a G2. Essentially the same thing as Desire-Z just minus the Sense UI. I had better not be. I'm already debating on getting one of the new super phones coming out, but if I can still get 2.3 than I'll hold off for a while longer.
